Hammer Dracula Hammer Frankenstein James Bond Resident Evil Star Trek films Blade trilogy Mr Vampire films Jurassic Park films Godzilla films Lord of the Rings Sinbad Harryhausen trilogy Evil Dead trilogy Demons duoalgy Batman film series (Burton and Nolan and DCAU only. I don't mind the Snyderverse but it's not one of my faves and I haven't seen Matt Reeves yet.) X-Men film series Police Story film series (Jackie Chan) Austin Power trilogy The Marx Brothers films Fright Night films Alien (though to be honest only the first two.) Terminator films (though again only the first three) Ghostbusters films (only the first two.)
And even though I know they are crass and mean and stupid, I still piss myself laughing at the Scary Movie, movies. Brenda is one of the greatest comedy characters of all time. I guess I'd rate at least a few of the Scary Movie, movies as guilty pleasures
Sassy black women aside from being among the sexiest are also the absolute best when it comes to comedy.
Regina Hall is an absolute treasure and a comedy genius! Everything from the way she is watching Shakespeare in Love like it' a horror movie, to the way she is in everybody's face, to the annoying way she eats her chicken to the way she calls him ShakAspeare still makes me LOL.

*Phantasm (1979 - 2016): All made with the same creative mind and cast. These films burst with originality.
*Psycho (1960 - 1990): A consistently well-made series of horror films. Anthony Perkins never fails to deliver on the goods.
*Star Wars (1977 - present): Always makes me feel like a kid. Absolutely love this universe.
*James Bond (1962 - present): These films are a relic of a different era, and I appreciate how purely entertaining they remain.
*Evil Dead (1981 - present): This franchise gives zero f*cks, and yet somehow always delivers.
*The Lord of the Rings (2001 - 2003): Masterpiece. I also have a major soft spot for the first Hobbit film.
*Indiana Jones (1981 - present): Harrison Ford is my fav action hero.

I've got the DVD coming. Reception seems fairly mixed between love and hate. I will undubitably air my opinion once I've seen it.

The 1978-2006 Superman series is my favourite film series. I love all five films honestly. I'm also a big fan of the James Bond films and the four original Karate Kid movies. The four Batman movies made between 1989 and 1997 are big favourites of mine too. I'm quite fond of The Neverending Story trilogy even though II and III are ridiculously unpopular. Doesn't really affect my love of them though.

I would have said Jaws too but I only like half of the series and it's not the half you would think...

It is a sad indictment of modern pop culture that Halloween, the horror series that, at the start of the 21st century with 7 movies, only one of which I didn't like, now has 13 movies, and I now dislike more of them than I like. Thanks Hollyweird.

It is a sad indictment of modern pop culture that Halloween, the horror series that, at the start of the 21st century with 7 movies, only one of which I didn't like, now has 13 movies, and I now dislike more of them than I like. Thanks Hollyweird. Only the first four films really matter. H1, H2 and H4 are a neat trilogy (with the first two being the original night, and H4 being an epilogue where the evil of Michael Myers is proven to be undefeatable). And H3 is just a good flick on its own. I also have a lot of respect for H6, because the original screenwriter tried so hard to tie everything together and wrote a script that convinced Pleasence to return before everything got mucked up. And you can still see hints of his vision in the producer's cut. It's atmospheric and creepy in its own way. Everything past that is just bad. H20 and H40 are just retreading old ground. I guess if you really want the end of Laurie's story, then you can pick one of them (personally I'd go with H20 for the axe chop, although H40 is undeniably better directed). But they're not very rewatchable. Resurrection, the Zombie films and Kills are all trash. Haven't bothered to see Ends yet.

Love H20 and I think 5 is far too underrated (the last half hour has some of the most exciting and scary set-pieces in the whole franchise). Hate 6 though, and everything post-H20 has been a freaking joke. I was actually quite interested when I heard they were ditching the Zombie bs and going to the original timeline - only for my heart to sink when I heard Curtis was back. I didn't see what they could do with her that H20 didn't do already... and sadly I was right, only removing the original Halloween II from continuity made it even more pointless for her to be there at all.
