Given the desperate nature of the rescue attempt, I did think they'd at least make an effort to put on a show of fixing things. It's brilliant. The BBC thought they were rescuing it by giving it back to the man who made it a "success", no questions asked. Now, he's off the leash, doing whatever he wants and running it into the ground. Merry f*cking Christmas..!  |

I remember the days when Fathead despite his obvious flaws in being a subpar rubbish hack writer was actually quite a good and effective publicist though.
These days he seems to think the best way to drum up publicity is purely by pissing off Daily Mail readers, it all seems like a bit of a fall from grace and somewhat hollow.
Then again, I guess subtlety was never his forte anyway.

This is almost beyond parody - organisations for a fictional sport (which is impossible to play faithfully in the real world due to the lack of magic) inspired by an author's books want to change the sport's name to distance itself from the author! |

Everybody is against cancel culture when it's their faves or them getting cancelled. Graham Linehan and JK Rowling actively supported cancel culture before they got the chop, and in some cases still do. I'm afraid you need to support even dickheads. To show I don't only support gorgeous, badass, literal goddesses on earth like Gina Carano I will say that I don't support Neil Patrick Harris' recent cancellation over what he said about Amy Winehouse. After she died, he made a cake looking like her rotting corpse and he posted it on social media, with his friend joking that she looked good for once. This was like a few weeks after she died. I can remember being really upset by it. (It's a classic example of the OTT misogynistic abuse she got.) By all means bring this up when Harris tries to virtue signal and is all for other people like Trump being censored to show what a hypocrite he truly is, but to go as far as to never watch anything he is ever in again and make the man straight up unemployable. That is obviously taking it too far. At the end of the day free speech has to apply, even to people you despise. For instance I've never wanted Frankie Boyle to be fired. I'll always point out what a hypocrite he is when virtue signals, but that's not the same thing as actively setting up a petition and trying to ruin him. |

Merry f*cking Christmas..! I wonder what will happen next if the RTD era is a failure? Do you think it will finally be wrestled from the Fitzroy Crowd's cold dead hands? I would have thought that would have happened when Jodie turned out to be a bigger failure than any of us could have predicted, but here we are facing another era run by this 90s clique. Never underestimate the power of nepotism, but at the same time, how many disasters can this one group be responsible for? I just hope that one day people stop being so slavish to the new who formula because "it was a success." By and large the New Who formula has now actually been a flop for longer than it was a success. 8 years of being a success. 2005-2013 ( a lot of which was built on nostalgia for the old, like Eccelston's first season and the 50th) vs what will be 9 years as a flop, as even if the 60th is a hit, it will be the only DW story on that year, which spin it any way you want. That's not a healthy show. |
