Just noticed how crisp and clear videotape looks in Doctor Who as opposed to film less grainy as well .

There's something almost depressing about how immediate videotape looks, and then you realise it's decades old and half the people in it are dead.

I love videotape footage. Those McCoy stories look incredible for their age. Sadly film often makes the story look older than it is.

It does when they can't HD it properly. Old films can look fantastic when they HD the negatives, but when they can't do that you get Colony in Space. Which still looks like shite.

Videotape generally does age alot better not require as much restoration as film does
