Isn't The Five Doctors technically a cyberman story too? They oppose 4 Doctors and team up with the Master.

They are the most active monsters in the story, however I discount it purely because it’s not THEIR story. The main villain brought them their alongside all the other monsters as part of the game.

I knew someone was going to say that, but the same could also be claimed about "The Invasion" where the main villain is really Tobias Vaughn and the Cybermen are largely kept mainly in the background. They don't even make an appearance until two thirds of the way into the story!

Aren't Carnival of Monsters and Dalek Cybermen stories too? I would say those(and the War Games etc) ARE different because they are literally reduced to mere cameos, whereas in The Five Doctors the Cybermen do take up a lot of screen time and take an active role within the plot.

There’s no wrong answer besides wither you think an celebratory story that includes all Doctors and Monsters counts or not. I for don’t, I see it as an appearance but not a true story for them. What you point out about Invasion was one of my biggest cretics of that story. That the Cybermen were not actually the core antagonist of their own story, and gave little to character of their own.

Fair point but then as you say, the Master is also prominent in the story. Is it his also? Personally, yes. I DO consider The Five Doctors a Master story also. He may not be the main protagonist in the story, but it does feature his ongoing quest for a new body/being on his last incarnation so is very much part of his characters ongoing narrative. In fact, I'd argue the Ainley Master is at his most ruthless best within this story. There’s no wrong answer besides wither you think an celebratory story that includes all Doctors and Monsters counts or not. I for don’t, I see it as an appearance but not a true story for them. I agree. It's purely down to personal choice and interpretation. Is Frontier In Space a Dalek story or Master story? Is Genesis Of The Daleks a Dalek story or a Davros story? Again, it's down to personal choice whether the viewer considers them so. What you point out about Invasion was one of my biggest cretics of that story. That the Cybermen were not actually the core antagonist of their own story, and gave little to character of their own. They're not, and yet it's probably one my favourite stories which features the cybermen, their lack of screen time within the majority of the narrative doesn't spoil my enjoyment of it.
