Borrowing from Mott1's poll from a year ago, a film fan approached me recently about which works of cinema were most suitable for their two-year old to watch. And it occurred to me that cinema tends to have lots of white-knuckle content, especially for young children.
With this in mind, I assembled a list of films with variable degrees of age-appropriate content with pertinent morals, and thought I'd consider dividing them somewhat according to age-appropriateness. Which of these are most suitable for a two-year old?
I always thought Cannibal Holocaust would be a suitable candidate, considering its educational and factually accurate depiction of animal killings, whereas the creation of a human walrus in Tusk ought to encourage the boundless imagination and productivity of younger minds, but I'm still undecided. You may select up to three answers!

I went for "I Spit on Your Grave" because those guys certainly know how to treat their hoes with their traditional ways.

Last House on The Left is definitely a kiddie favourite. And Deliverance. Children tend to laugh their asses off - so to speak -at the "Squeal, piggy!" scene.

All 3 of my selections - Reservoir Dogs, Cannibal Holocaust and A Serbian Film - show 'pacifist scum' being punished, which both children and adults would applaud, surely?

Agreed- they all certainly teach the merits of obedience in the face of authoritarianism to younger audiences. Passion of the Christ, with its elongated portrayal of Christ's suffering, is also bound to instil the morals of our righteous Christian Elders into today's youth, as mean-spirited as the injection of a female Satan may be.

I went for "I Spit on Your Grave" because those guys certainly know how to treat their hoes with their traditional ways. For very similar reasons, I eventually settled for that film, Last House on the Left and Salo. As educational as Cannibal Holocaust may be, it didn't quite succeed in conveying this message.

Well, there's only two responible choices here, really:-
1.) Cannibal Holocaust, for its espousing of understanding and engagement with other cultures. It also teaches you how to cook your own tortoise. Sort of a more extroverted Blue Peter.
2.)A Serbian Film, because it encourages children to actively participate and not just be passive consumers.
The Human Centipede 2, although always receiving a noisily enthusiastic response, is really just light fare for the lead up to the Christmas season...

Very true. For all its merits Cannibal Holocaust is a little too radical in its approach to feminism...
