Wonderful woman that Mary Whitehouse was. Looking after the nations traditional values and protecting innocence. It's a shame she's not still around, we could have had an episode of Rings of Akhaten to look forward to each and every week complete with charming singing dwarves, instead of that evil corrupting snuff that utter contemptible human hating death cult bastard Eric Saward produced.

Wonderful woman that Mary Whitehouse was. Looking after the nations traditional values and protecting innocence. It's a pity she didn't go far enough. She wasn't able to prevent the commissioning of needlessly cruel and sadistic stories like The Deadly Assassin or Terror of the Autons, although her demonisation of TV as an "ally for pacifism" was very adroit.  Wars are obviously amazing, but fictional accounts documenting the consequences of war (or anything remotely graphic) as cautionary tales are clearly going too far. |
