I'm uncomfortable with his ties with Putin and his failure to condemn what's going on in Ukraine. I also think he's become very arrogant and lazy which is why his new movies suck so much. That said, 90s Seagal is one of my favourite action stars. He's pretty much untouchable in his earlier stuff. His best movies are the Under Siege ones. Sure they're Die Hard clones, but I love movies like that. Tommy Lee Jones gives a great performance as the villain and he should have played Harvey Dent like that in Batman Forever. I also like Exit Wounds (his last good movie) and Marked for Death, although the latter is pretty rare these days. The guy has obviously made more bad movies than good and pretty much everyone he has worked with has called him a pain in the arse and a dickhead, but I enjoy some of his movies still.
