I really like Cobra Kai, but unfortunately I had to come off several CK facebook groups last week. Man, it was so toxic. Anyone posting how much they fancied characters (not me for a change) were labelled creeps and pervs while people were openly abused for not knowing something or went against fan opinion. Posts were removed because people on there found them too repetitive or stupid (again, it's a matter of opinion) and there was just a general smugness about members. It's actually put me off the show a bit which is a shame.
Never had a problem with the RoboCop or Superman fandoms. Blake's 7 fans are quite pleasant too.

Well I've heard some unbelievable stories about Supernatural fandom. I'd just like to point out that I have had no problem with SPN fans myself. The SPN reddit page has so far been quite pleasant and nice to me personally, but from what I've heard about it and indeed the impact it had on the show, where characters are killed off because fans hate them shows it can be quite toxic.

Apparently the Sonic fandom has some very fanatic and disturbing elements. So have the Bronies, but then this is all to be expected of groups that cross over with Furries.
The Power Level or VS community is also a pretty heated one. Now having the debate in which character could beat who is fine in my eyes, provided you remember this is all fiction and ment to be fun. Some people though take this idea to its rabid extreme, compiling pages up on pages of character feats, abilities and what not, coming up with power scaling that balloon into multiversel and the like, craft entire wikis on the subject and then spend 10 plus pages debating who would win in a fight , while brining up every single obscure ability and feat, in an ever escalating toxicity.
I confess I was once one of these people but after I noticed how often such debates often grew toxic, brining out the worst in myself also, as well as realising just how bloody silly what we were getting worked up over was, I just quite. I still have the odd light hearted vs debate about kaiju but I steer well clear of anything else.

The Potter fandom is full of nutters. Heaven forfend you thought some characters might have been better suited to one another than the "Canon" pairings.
The toys are thrown from the pram and then the pitchforks come out!

The Jaws the Revenge fandom is pretty bad. I mean, I'm the only member of it but even then I have arguments with myself. The meet ups are pretty good, though. I enjoy sitting in a darkened room all by myself with a cup of tea and rubbing one out to a film everyone hates.

Batman fandom has become quite toxic lately been attacked at least three times now and alot of other people simply for stating their issues with the new Batman film I personally think the new Riddler looks awful

My problem with a lot of fandoms is that I find people don't like things for the same reasons I do; and then in many cases actually hate the stuff I love the most and/or big up the stuff I find the least interesting or indeed crap.
It gets tedious after a while. I expect to have nothing in common with normies but when it's other people who are supposedly fans of the same thing you are it gets a bit depressing, if not infuriating!

I feel you iank, I feel like a stranger even amount other fans of Aliens, Jurassic Park and other franchises. It’s why I actually have practically nothing to do with any fandom save you lot these days. If it makes you feel better, while I’m not as big a fan as yourself, season 17 has been very enjoyable throughout. I’m currently watching Horns of Nimon and I’m baffled as to why it’s got such a bad reputation, it’s easily one of the best of the season. |

Some of them also hate Matt Reeves' Batman movie and don't want it to succeed just so they can get Ben Affleck back in the role. Frankly, no Batman movie gets better than Mask of the Phantasm. I can't stand either faction, the MCU fans think every film is amazing when it's just the same thing every single year too. Sure there are some films that are better than others, but when you're so used to a formula it can get tiring. A lot of their Disney+ shows have been pretty bad too...yet nobody wants to admit they're a waste of time. |

It’s had its time and Endgame was its proper conclusion. Aside from No Way Home, I feel zero urge watch anything. The only thing that would change my mind would be a proper set of Hulk movies. |
