fandomwire.com/classic-tv-shows-new-age-fans-now-see-as-flops/They also have Xena in there too. For all their woke shit. If Lucy Lawless pulls scrunch faces, goes on about how awful single dads are, fights a villain whose thing is that they are really small but eat really big things (take THAT Callisto) and doesn't show a friend suffering from cancer any sympathy will you consider her a true feminist icon like saint Jodie?

Evidence? Examples? What are they basing this on?
I'm a "Generation Z" viewer, and this is bollocks. I've sat through The War Games in one sitting multiple times!
That's an indictment on the people who wrote this and their complete lack of attention span- not on the programme. How would they cope with the following films?
Lawrence of Arabia. Doctor Zhivago. Seven Samurai. Godfather Part II. Ben-Hur. Amadeus. Andrei Rublev. Barry Lyndon. Schindler's List.
Not that Doctor Who stories were supposed to be viewed in one sitting as it is. What a lazy criticism.
Right- can they be arsed to list any key examples? And justify the claim that New Who is somehow not beset with a far greater degree of plot contrivances (the sheer amount of deus ex machina resolutions alone ought to put pay to that...)?
What a poorly written article. No justification, no intelligent analysis, and laden with assumptions backed up with bugger all evidence.

Exactly. It's not as if millenials (or indeed everyone) was doing a lot of binge-watching their favourite shows during lockdown is it? Another article written by someone with the attention span of a gnat (and as irritating as one)!

As burrunjour alludes, these people are so dumb and demonstrably inaccurate in everything they wrote it's hard to even get annoyed. Leave them to their delusions.

...the plot holes are another element that cannot be ignored. Doctor Who, the pre-modern version of the show at least, is full of gigantic plot holes. Let me get this straight: trivial little mistakes like Atlantis and the UNIT dating controversy are a deal breaker for him, but the fundamental impossibility of The Timeless Children and NuWho Series 7 even taking place in the same universe is perfectly fine?

I don’t get it either, also a lot of people take these issues out of context. Doctor Who started as in the 60s. A very different era of tv, in fact for most forms of entertainment, just look at comics if the era and compare them to now. It then ran for 26 seasons, with multiple people working on it. Things were constantly evolving in terms of the style of stories told. Hell some fans were pushing back against this evolution at the time, just look at the reception Deadly Assassins got from some. Then factor in that there was no easy way to go back and see old episodes. But do these people mention any of this no.

Shaming creators for not appealing to the dumbest section of their audience, something the author strives more for it seems. expect more of this shite when Mr F Head returns to the show.

Ian's right, we're really in no position to comment on journalism of this standard...

Ian's right, we're really in no position to comment on journalism of this standard... Jesus- I'm unsure how that slipped me by. That would probably guarantee a fail in your average English Language exam, so yeah, I think I'm willing to concur with Ian on this now...
