Twat. Doesn't bother him so long as they're smearing Corbyn with fantasies, but don't pick on Boris for what he actually has done...

Word's cannot express how much I despise this c*nt. He's one to talk about picking on someone. This is the same arsehole who 14 years after getting a show cancelled, and blacklisting several of the people involved like Colin Baker and JNT, both of whom suffered severe mental health problems after as a result of their careers being derailed. (JNT more or less drank himself to death.) Appeared on a panel show to kick the series into the dirt by showing clips from all the worst episodes to try and make out to all the people involved that it would always be a joke and a laughing stock.
Yeah that was expressing opinions politely, and also trying to make out that DW fans were pathetic because they were nerds, with glasses and shy and retiring wasn't at all high school macho bullying culture was it Grade?
That wanker Paul Merton certainly let you off the hook Grade when he didn't ask "why did you get JNT to do your dirty work when firing Colin, promising him he could leave and then forcing him to say on?" "Why did you raise prices of the show so no one could buy it abroad." "Why did you fire Colin and go against his terms of contract? It didn't have anything to do with you sleeping with his ex wife did it?" "why did you move DW out of its time slot twice?" "why did you hamper the production team by telling them to make the show sillier in McCoy's first year?" "why did your mate Jonathan Powell say that JNT should f*ck off and die, and deliberately give him bad legal advice over Saward in the hopes of it 'being another nail in his coffin.'"
Absolute piece of shit all around.

Twat. Doesn't bother him so long as they're smearing Corbyn with fantasies, but don't pick on Boris for what he actually has done... Just when I thought I couldn't despise this prick more than I already do... Firstly, it's no surprise that an utter Tory wanker who's spent his entire career climbing a greasy media pole to get his nepotistic arse into the House of Lords hates Corbyn, given that he's one of the few figures in politics who never operated as part of such an incestuous establishment circle and operated within the grassroots. Such a concept would undoubtedly make his privately educated blood boil by default. But to then go ahead and say that it's "too much" to scrutinise a man who's spent his entire career lying to people is a truly striking embodiment of how utterly bereft of a moral fibre this man is, especially given his treatment of Colin Baker and JNT, and his subsequent gleeful smugness when it came to trashing Doctor Who, just because it dared to posit imaginative ideas on a restricted budget. Johnson is the same man who got sacked from the Times in 1988 for lying, got sacked from Michael Howard's shadow cabinet in 2004 for the same thing, tried to get a journalist beaten up for daring to expose him, wrote the book "72 Virgins" which portrayed antisemitic tropes whereby Jews are depicted as "controlling the media" (evidence enough that Grade and his dickheads in the press never had any interest in calling out genuine antisemitism)...I could go on. That said, Oborne's done it already- the BBC certainly aren't calling most of THESE out, are they, Grade? boris-johnson-lies.com/"I never got science-fiction". Yeah, I'm not surprised. Anything remotely challenging or with a shred of satire or imagination runs completely antithetical to everything you stand for, mate. What a c.unt.

A worthy edit.
Looks like Colin Baker was right in what he said at that early '90s convention. Doctor Who's scariest enemy is Michael Grade.
Is it at all possible, i wonder, that Robert Holmes was, in fact, writing about the BBC...?

Not that Grade would have ever noticed. The concept of allegory and metaphor would likely sail entirely above his stunted head...

The man who killed a once-great show and allowed it to reborn as hideously as Jacobi's Master morphing into Simm's now trying to prevent his old employer making the slightest criticism of the most corrupt leader Britain ever had? It wasn't even the Beeb that broke the Partygate scandal, it was ITV's Paul Brand!
Grade really is the King of Canutes.
