Comparing the most popular films of the original series of both Batman and Superman. As much as I love Returns, I'm going to go for Superman and Superman II over both Burton films. I quite like Superman II now (I'm sure you're very shocked) and the original film is just a masterpiece, much better than Batman 89 by some way. I like Burton's Batman, but the original two Superman movies are so much more investing and they compliment each other better than the two Burton films do. That's probably because Superman II is a direct sequel while Batman Returns isn't really. Obviously I'm a bit bias because I'm a massive Superman fan compared to Batman. As I said, all four films are very good and much better than the modern interpretations in my honest opinion. Superman/Superman II it is.
