1. Resurrection 10/10 2. Warriors 9/10 3. Caves 8.5/10 4. Twin Dilemma 7.5/10 5. Planet of Fire 7/10 6. Frontios 7/10 7. The Awakening 6/10 (seems popular around here but I've never loved it)
Great season overall. Probably the best pre McCoy season I would say.

It's pretty average to me honestly. Season 20 is my fave Davison season but none of his really mean as much to me as some Pat, Jon and Tom seasons.

Davison had some of the best stories of the classic era and also some of the worst. His era is a bit of a mixed bag in truth, but his good stuff is really good. He got maybe two or three genuine classics a season as well as a few duds here and there. I don't have as much fondness for his time as I do for the McCoy era. The McCoy era is truly the golden age of the series for me.

Probably my favourite Davison Season... It might be mine now, albeit mainly on the strength of Caves of Androzani. Season 19 is an odd one because Davison himself is very good in it, and you have the odd standout here and there (Kinda and Earthshock; Black Orchid is decent too), but it does occasionally feel like a less ambitious iteration of season 18, and Time-Flight is ghastly. Season 20 is more consistently average- Enlightenment and Mawdryn are my favourites, and Five Doctors (if it counts) is certainly entertaining, but the rest of the season isn't much to write home about, even if I don't hate Terminus as much as some. I can barely remember Arc of Infinity, bar a competent final episode. Snakedance is OK, but not one I revisit often, and The King's Demons is one of the most banal, rubbish and downright pointless Classic Series stories out there. Why the Master would even take an interest in the Magna Carter is beyond me, considering that it came to fruition as a result of multiple socio-political factors and would be difficult to undo via one trivial event. It's not a bad season but it's not remotely noteworthy. Although Season 21 has its low-points (Warriors, Twin Dilemma), I find them both more entertaining than the low points of seasons 19 and 20. Planet of Fire is admittedly very dull, but inoffensive all the same, whilst Frontios has a very strong opening half (even if it sags later on). Resurrection has grown on me over time, and The Awakening is infinitely stronger as a two-parter than The King's Demons ever was. That leaves Caves, which is the best story of the era. So despite its obvious faults, I'd probably classify it as his strongest season.
