Just finished this as part of my Christmas marathon. I enjoyed it a lot for the first time since 2014. The film is gisually stunning with a haunting score and great characters. It's dark and demented with arguably the most grotesque villain in the series, but it's so much fun. I wish they hadn't killed off the cute Ice Princess but other than that it's a great sequel.

Agreed it's an amazing sequel. It's kind of like a more up to date version of the Universal horror movies, with its dream like visuals, fairy tale theme, haunting music and tragic, yet still utterly vile monsters. 

Catwoman and the Penguin are both sympathetic characters, but at the same time they do the most horrible things, from kidnapping innocent girls, to in the Penguins case. Child murder! 

It's exactly like the Karloff Frankenstein Monster who similarly is a character that you can genuinely feel bad for, but at the same time does the most hideous things. In both cases you're constantly conflicted in your feelings for them. 

Also Christopher Walken is brilliant. Loathsome and funny. "Selina Kyle. YOU'RE FIRED!" He was like Donald Trump with that catchphrase, stupid hair cut, corrupt persona, no scruples and show biz charisma LOL.

My only gripe is that Batman is too ruthless. I didn't mind him killing the Joker in the previous movie. It's not true to most versions of Batman, but worked for that version of the story. In this film however they have him casually blow up bad guys and smile while doing it which just comes over sadistic on Batman's part. Also it stretches credibility that Commissioner Gordon would work with him after sets people on fire!
