PS you'd be much better than Jodie. I'd actually recommend you watch the episode from last night as it was a car crash of epic proportions. Jodie's acting was so bad you couldn't even tell whether she was supposed to be in pain, or flirting, or taking a shit.

As for Yaz whilst she is certainly very pretty, I still don't find her attractive simply because the character has NO personality. 3 seasons in and she might as well be a rock. We keep getting told how marvellous she is. There is even a bit where John Bishop (who is also unwatchably bad.) Shills her for no reason, but other than that I can't tell you anything about Yaz's character. Mandip in real life at least based on what I see on her insta page is a bit bubbly, but even that it seems is covered by Chibnall's piss poor writing. There's no need for Mandip to show up. If they followed Tom's suggestion of a cabbage as the companion, it would have made no difference.

I also love the way Chibnall crapped out of having her and the Doctor together. Three seasons in and this tosser despite hyping it up (and he did. The idea that Jodie and Mandip just had this natural chemistry is laughable.) And he still hasn't gone through with it. Queer baiting at its finest.

I think like the jump on the bandwagon cowards that they are, they sense that it's a sinking ship and are ready to throw themselves back at RTD. 

Quite frankly though I don't know what RTD is thinking? The show's reputation is so bad, and the latest episodes have been such shit, I really think it needs a decade away now. He is taking a huge gamble with his career to say the least. 

I think it's got to the point now where people no longer rank worst showrunner or producer. It will always have to be second worst after Chibbers LOL.

I feel that RTD's return to the show is fairly simple; money was spent by the BBC (BIIIIIG money) to lure RTD to the fold, it was too prime an opportunity to rekindle his love with what is possibly RTD's favourite show of all time.

Maybe RTD does have a plan to rescue the show, I hope so.

As i've said in previous threads, the BBC couldn't possibly have re-hired RTD to further their agenda, knowing that it has resulted in diminishing ratings, merchandise sales, and fan numbers.

Thing is though RTD is kind of damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

On the one hand he has a massive SJW following with people like Claudia Boleyn, so if he retcons Jodie's era, then they'll turn on him. On the other he can't possibly not retcon Jodie's era LOL in order to bring in people like us. The majority of people have said that until the Timeless Children is removed, they don't care even if their favourite showrunner comes back. 

If anything a good era of DW would actually annoy people now as it would be in danger of legitimazing Jodie LOL. 

Maybe he'll be able to pull it around, but to be honest it looks like he's jumped in there without thinking. If he wanted to write more DW, he could have easily just carried on with Big Finish. 

I will say that maybe even he didn't think that Chibnall would double down on the Timeless Children bullshit with this series. Perhaps RTD was hoping to retcon it out with a cheeky line like 

"Never trust the Master. That man lies as regularly as he breathes. You wouldn't believe some of the ridiculous things he's got me to believe over the centuries. From his supposed redemption to even stories about my own past."

"He made you believe lies about your own past? How?"

"It's complicated and like I said he's a very, very good liar."

Now however with Tecteun and the Flux bullshit that can't happen. A really spiteful, shitty thing for Chibnall to do IMO.

Pretty much. We saw Tecteun in the flesh and she revealed that there are billions of pre Hartnell Doctors, the Dog guy also apparently was a former companion (perhaps lover who knows) of the Doctor. No way it can be retconned now. Like I said the only way forward as far as I can see is rest and then either complete reboot or alternate sequel. 

Ironically the people Chibnall has really f*cked over are his friends Moffat and RTD, as the original is so divorced from these, but their eras have ironically been poisoned for their fans by Chibnalls ridiculous retcons.
