Incidentally, I've been looking for the original 1970's Uchu Senkan Yamato series for a while and have had no luck - my wife couldn't find the DVD in Japan. I don't want a dubbed, American version. |

Well I can actually help you there. There's an online site called Super-Robots Team Store who primarily sell a lot of subbed 70's robot series but they do other stuff such as the original Yamato series and well as Yamato 2. While some of their original work was a bit crap, a lot of their new stuff has run perfectly, with my copy of Dinosaur Great War Izenborg being great from start to finish. On the downside they usually want 50 dollers per boxset, and they are usually made from pretty weak material so their always broken in some way on arrival. I often had to buy new boxes to keep them in. The other downside, though this has only ever happened rarely, is that the disc was damaged due to the rough shipping and so some of the episodes wouldn't play right. That said they were always very helpful and prompt via email when I contacted them. So if your interested and that bit of risk if fine with you, you could give them a try. |

I know this may sound odd, but if you like DW, time travel, and SF- I really think you should give Yugioh 5Ds a go. It kind of feels a bit like Gundam in an odd way.
If you can overlook the fact it uses cards as its battle mechanic for story purposes, the actual story of the series is really good. Cults, illuminati antics, and time travel. It's great. And my god, the soundtrack is wonderful.
