Yeah to celebrate the 25 anniversary of the 8th Doctor, they did a comic that teams him up with Rose and the 11th Doctor to fight an evil alternate universe version of Rose. There are also scenes of Rose and the Meta Crisis Doctor having a life and a daughter named Mia. Yeah a real celebration of the 8th Doctor by bringing in New Who characters and making it all about them.

Well isn't that what nuwho was about anyway?
I'm being dead serious, more often then not the companion is the main character not the Doctor in such stories. It's why they save the day at the end of whatever saga their following, why the it's for often then not they do that actually saves the day in a story rather then the Doctor or to get the Doctor to take action. It happened each time with maybe on only Amy not pulling the rug out from 11's feet on a regular basis, until we got the to the terror of the Clara saga and Pissy Missy, when the mask really started to slip and then we got to Jodie were all pretence was drops and the Doctor was replaced by an actress who is so ill suited you'd almost think it was done on purpose.
That cover might as well be a reflection of nuwho as a whole. You could even use nuwho as a guide to see how modern culture has corrupted most forms of media into utter drivel, because right from is very inception they didn't care about Doctor Who, they just didn't have the guts to do what they are doing nowadays.
And all this from a guy who was more then ok with more developed companions and ok with a female Doctor, if she was fokking good!

Insipid NuWho soap opera meets cliched, Marvel comics-style story with bland, uninspired artwork. Plus I'm not a fan of that redesigned 'Night Of The Doctor' outfit for the 8th Doctor. McGann's Doctor is swallowed up by the dumb NuWho universe. Very sad, yet entirely predictable.

Yes, let's celebrate something British by getting a f*cking yank like Jody Houser to make it.
Jesus Christ, yanks have no f*cking clue of DW. Every f*cking time they make a comic, it's always a Doctor crossover. They just can't think beyond that pathetic level of fanfic
Yanks should NEVER be allowed to write for the series.

I liked Houser when she worked for Marvel and wrote the Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows series, though it wasn't a patch on Conway or Stegman 's runs, and god the art was FAR worse on that book.
Pretty telling she's stuck writing for past Doctors rather than Jodie while the show is on the air.

Hell even within the same series. Robert Holmes for instance, amazing writer all around, but sucked badly at writing the Cybermen. That's why though the showrunner system is terrible. Even RTD was good at writing for the Daleks, in that at least he kept them in character and treated them as the big cheese, but the Master on the other hand?
