I've decided to buy Blu-rays again, but only for my favourite movies/TV shows or films that I think have superb cinematography. At the moment I only own Season 24 on the format but I will buy Season 25 when that comes out as well as the standard packaging version of Season 26. I'm not sure I'll buy any pre McCoy stuff on Blu-ray, though. I'm in two minds about being the complete Bond set. £35 for 24 films is pretty good, but I only like about half of them so I don't know whether or not I should buy my favourite Bond films individually instead or just go ahead and get the set. The other films I've got on my list are The Neverending Story (exceptional photography in that film), Superman (1978), The Howling (brand new restrotation version) and the Rocky set. The latter set I'm also in two minds about as the films don't look that much better than the DVDs that I own. I found that when I originally bought blu-rays films shot in widescreen looked better than those in flat screen. This might not always be the case, but certainly in my experience it was.

I did end up buying the Rocky set in the end. This quality isn't amazing on some of them, but IV and Balboa look pretty good. I also bought the Superman films and I must say that I'm shocked at how good Superman IV looks. Vibrant colours, a clear picture and a lot of detail I never really noticed on the DVD. I actually think it looks better than the other films in the set. I only bought a few Bond films such as OHMSS and Moonraker. Moonraker looks INCREDIBLE! Gorgeous cinematography and again so vibrant and detailed. I'm glad I upgraded to be honest.

Getting a new player tomorrow (or today, as it's past midnight). Hoping to get one for less than £100 in the sales. This one better last longer than my old Blu ray player that simply died after about three years.

New Blu ray player is great. Was £80 but I got £45 off thanks to a voucher.
