Death to the Daleks. Probably my least favourite story of the classic era, but it isn't Pertwee's fault. I've actually warmed to the Pertwee era considerably. Inferno, Curse, Day, Three Doctors and Time Monster (I think it's fab) are my favourites.

Invasion of the Dinosaurs. Absolute tripe. Monster of Peladon Planet of the Spiders (Dreadful ending all around.) The Time Monster The Mutants

I've only seen bits and pieces of Invasion of the Dinosaurs. It doesn't seem that bad to me. Yeah, the effects are poor but the deserted London scenes at the beginning are good.

I've only seen bits and pieces of Invasion of the Dinosaurs. It doesn't seem that bad to me. Yeah, the effects are poor but the deserted London scenes at the beginning are good. The first episode is phenomenally atmospheric, especially in monochrome. Then again, I'm one of the members here who rates the story quite highly anyway. It's consistently interesting and involving, and the conceit of a fake spaceship populated by those "chosen" is a genuinely fascinating one that caught me off guard on first viewing. The weakest of season 11, as far as I'm concerned, is Monster of Peladon. Not awful, but padded considerably and difficult to get through in one sitting, as well as treading the same political ground as Curse less succinctly and without the same brevity.

I love 'em all This is pretty much my position these days. There are Pertwee stories I like less than others, but I've warmed to many of the stories over time which I once derided. The Mutants might be immensely padded with some appalling acting, but there's at least a well-ingrained moral concerning colonialism embedded within, and there are plenty of good ideas dispersed in there. The Time Monster might suffer from particular moments of NuWho-inspired logic, but there's a boundless imagination and absurdity to it that's commendable. The lesser stories still certainly have their merits.
