Is it just me, or has the internet gotten boring? It's like I can't find anything to peak my interest these days.
I remember getting bored of TV as a child, and when the internet started, it was like this box of wonder. I could find anything I wanted, stuff I never knew of, or just some odd curiosity.
But now, it feels like it is getting harder to find stuff. Stuff that we once could view at a drop of a hat is hard to find, if even possible. And the sites we used for entertainment are becoming a shadow of their former selves.
Anyone else feel the same?

I do find the sites I visit shrinking in number. There's only a few forums left of interest, and I seem to spend most of my time on YT. Then again, part of that is the sheer prevalance of the stupid online. Life's too short to spend it arguing with weirdos.

I think the wonder and ability to surprise or inspire has waned over the years with the internet, controlling establishment forces have also eliminated a lot of organically grown content and made things less like wild frontiers which has added to the dullness too.

Yeah, a bit. I spend less time on it these days. I mostly just talk to people on here and on messenger and occasionally update my blog. I'd rather just spend the day reading a book or watching DVDs. Even going for a nice long walk is preferable to spending hours on the internet.

The internet is also a bit like the Wild West, or any other frontier. It was all new virgin land but now it’s been developed, bought, fenced off, segregated, tamed and ruled. It’s infinite possibilities are gone.
I used to visit AVP planet for all its fan fiction. There was some gaming site that had hours of fan made music videos. Sites for flash animations of all kinds. You never know what you might find.
Also I think these days dealing with people online is such a hassle. How many sites not only have strict rules but open statements of what they agree with but will not tolerate any discussion on? Not to mention so of the proper nutters who run some of them.
Why do you think I spend most of my time here? Besides the good company I mean. I just feel uncomfortable most places because you actually can’t talk to anyone. One challenging or not in line statement and you get dog piled on.

I suppose so. If you frequent Twatter and Facebore then I can imagine it can get very boring. If you frequent Ass Parade and LesbianX however you'd probably have a better time. YouTube and this forum are the only two places I really value on here.

YouTube is infested with Nazis to the point where the vast majority of videos on them have the comments turned off. I've seen endless comments of praise for the party as well as support for their ideology. The antisemitism has died down since YT purged a lot of the racism a while ago, but there's still a load of nuts claiming we "defeated the wrong enemy" and that Hitler was a misunderstood guy. I remember one person passionately defending his love for Goebbels. And then there's the usual holocaust deniers who are honestly thicker than people who still believe the Earth is flat. It is frightening how many of them there are on these videos.

On the plus side, Tsuburaya Productions has their own YouTube Channel, allowing fans to watch the newest Ultraman shows subbed. A gigantic step forward for the franchises accessibility outside Japan.

I'm starting to get the hang of discord chat, which doesn't require me to hang out on forums, twitter or facebook much anymore. I had a twitter account once or twice last year and this year, but on both occasions I deleted them.
Still stick with Youtube mostly for fan created audios, fanedits, and fan features, and comic book analysts

Yeah, people love to bemoan the death of the classic internet forum, but alternatives such as Discord are better in just about every way.

Some of the internet, mainly social media site, is toxic. Twitter is one of the most hostile online environments and Facebook is no better to be honest. I'm not sure how anyone could frequently get into Twitter spats and not lose their sanity.
