The gruesome death of Red McNally - one of the truly great moments in British comics!! I like the way he just kind of just explodes in the sharks mouth! Ramon Solas best work along with Flesh and Shako Though far less blood-thirsty, and much sillier, I still liked the toothless shark 'Gums' from Monster Fun Comic:Have you got the new Halloween issue of Monster Fun yet? Gums is in that. Tom Patersons stuff absolutely steals the show in the whole comic however.

Ah good ok Hookjaw, what a great comic. I’ve got the omnibus at home. There are a few other shark themed comics around but none can hold a candle to this. There was a new version but it was way to heavy on the modern politics for my taste. Yeah, that modern Titan "Hookjaw" series was pants wasn't it? The recent revamp of it in 2000AD not much good either. We want exploding body parts in the sharks mouth dammit! And lots of them! Why do modern writers fail to understand this very basic premise? Hookjaw himself would go on to inspire other killer animal comics. Theirs Shako, a killer polar bear on the FBI death list, and of course Flesh! Did you see the Action Special last year where Shako and Hookjaw met for a nice calming cup of tea and cozy chat about old times?

I'm going to see this play next week - a comedy revealing the behind-the-scenes dramas of the making of Jaws. Written by and starring Robert Shaw's Son. Can't wait!

In terms of biting power this is where Sharks rank compared to other predators.
Top 10 most powerful bite forces of all time.
10/Tiger (half a ton) 9/ Jaguar (three quarters of a ton) 8/ Alligator (1 ton) 7/ Great White Shark (2 tons) 6/ Saltwater Crocodile (over 2 tons) 5/ Giganotosaurus (3 tons) 4/ Tyrannosaurus Rex (6-9 tons) 3/ Deinosuchus, a prehistoric Crocodile (11 tons) 2/ Predator X, a Marine Reptile (15 tons) 1/ Megalodon, a prehistoric Shark over 50 feet long (20 tons)
There is one estimate of Tyrannosaurus Rex's biting power to puts it at 23 tons, which obviously would make it the strongest. Also it's worth noting that Tyrannosaurus could apply more pressure behind each tooth than any large animal. Also there are some animals whose bite forces have not been properly measured like Orcas.
Still modern Sharks can bite harder than any terrestrial animal, whilst the Megalodon may have had the most powerful bite of all time.
