I love Live and Let Die. I do agree Golden Gun is kinda weird and Moore's Bond is very out of character in it, much more thuggish Connery. I love AVTAK but I find Octopussy the worst, to be honest. It's the only one I have no childhood memory of - though I must have seen it then - and I can see why! Living Daylights is fun till the Afghan section when it gets very boring. I enjoy LTK as a good bloody 80s revenge thriller though it's not really Bond (though it's nice Q get more to do in it).

Yeah I really don't like how he treats the girls in the Man With The Golden Gun. Beating one to a pulp and then locking another one in the cupboard LOL. Far too 60s Connery. Even though he might be too old, the Bond in View To A Kill is much more in character with Moore's version overall, like when he still tries to help Grace Jones and begs her to get off the bomb in spite of everything and genuinely cares for the people around him like Patrick Magnee's character. It's quite ironic in a way as I think Roger Moore's Bond has aged the best and SHOULD be the template for how Bond works in the 21st century. He has a more complex personality than Lazenby. Obviously Lazenby only had one movie, but still Moore has more sides to his persona, ruthlessness, humor, genuine affection for his friends, haunted by his wife's death like in For Your Eyes Only etc. He is obviously far more charming, debonair and suave than Craig, who plays it as being too much of a thug and a moody bastard. He wasn't linked to current events, like helping the terrorists behind 9/11 get a foot hold like Dalton was. His stories apart from Moonraker had the right balance of larger than life, so they felt like more than just your average spy movies, but not to the point of the Brosnan movies where we had invisible cars and holodecks. Finally the way he treated the women in his movies was better. Apart from a few exceptions LOL like the first two and Octopussy, the Moore Bond was more gentlemanly and charming and also the Bond girls could be more dynamic in his like Major Omasava. To me that's what they should do with Bond today, (which is why I want Tom Ellis, as I think he has that Moore quality to him and could carry it off brilliantly.) Also if you need any further proof, Moore was Amy Winehouse's favourite Bond LOL. She even references him in You Know I'm No Good, though Sir Roger in his typical self deprecating fashion said that it was probably just because she couldn't get anything to rhym with Connery LOL.

He acts like a thug in The Man with the Golden Gun. His patronising tone towards the lovely Goodnight pissed me off. He wasn't like that in Live and Let Die. TMWTGG isn't a bad Bond movie though. It has an underrated score and I love the two babes in it. I don't know why people dislike Octopussy the most? It has a brilliant pre title sequence and the last fifty minutes with the race for the bomb segment and the end palace fight are probably the most enjoyable minutes of Bond since the third act of OHMSS. It's not boring at all. It's actually quite funny too. I'd rather watch it than Daylights personally.

I find it very dull. It takes far too long to reveal there's an actual threat, with nearly 90 minutes being about Bond hunting a counterfeit egg! Berkoff should also have been the main villain IMO. Yeah it gets better in the last act but it doesn't save it for me, not comparded to the others.

Octopussy's always been of my faves. The faberge egg, Louis Jordain, the mechanical crocodile, the island of beautiful babes, the Tarzan impression, Steven 'bonkers' Berkoff, Bond as a clown in the circus, the finale on the plane, the cinematography, the romantic title theme - fun throughout!
In some ways it's closer to the lunacy of Moonraker than other Moore movies, but I think it takes *less* time to get going.

Moonraker has the edge for me personally, but Octopussy would still be in my top five. As Mott says, the cinematography is great as it always is in these movies. I only have the DVDs but even then they look great. I also love Magda in the film. Octopussy's girls are all awesome actually. I own the score too which is pretty good as is the Rita Coolidge song. Better than the modern Bond songs for sure.

Lazenby was the worst Bond. He took the knee during the gun barrel sequence. More typical woke behaviour from the Islamic terrorist apologists on the left.
On another note, I watched the new Bond movie but only got a minute into it before I walked out of the cinema. I'm very pro war, but Bond shooting at the screen in the opening seconds of the movie left a sour taste in my mouth. I don't approve of that kind of violence in movies. Anyway, I'm off to my own forum now where I put on a pleasant persona for my members to disguise the fact that I'm a misogynistic, abusive sack of shit.
