They've dropped a trailer for the Director's Cut of Rocky IV. I've watched it three times since last night. I was actually so excited that I didn't sleep until about half two. I doubt it will be in cinemas over here, but that's fine because it will be available to stream the very next day on November the 12th. Been waiting a long time for this.

You know, when they said "streaming everywhere" I assumed they meant worldwide. But no, it's only streaming in the US. Now I've got to wait for the cinema showing on the 25th (which at least added my town's cinema recently) instead. So pissed off. Bought a huge tub of popcorn and everything for tonight. I'm glad MGM care for fans outside of the US  |

I'm going with mum to the evening screening on November 25th. Going for dinner first and then the Director's Cut. Looking forward to seeing my favourite Rocky on the big screen. Can't they invent a cinema that only shows 80s films on repeat?

Clips from the cut have been uploaded on YT. I'm very mixed on what I've seen. The editing sometimes is very choppy and a lot of the charming/humourous moments have been cut out. However, the fight scenes are better and there are a lot more character moments in there. Some alternate takes work better than others, but the new material is interesting. It also looks fantastic and I personally don't mind the new widescreen aspect ratio. I'm looking forward to seeing the whole thing, but I'm not convinced that it will be better than the 1985 version.

It was shit. All the negative reviews I read were right on the money. What are you doing, Sly? There's talk of him recutting Rocky V too. The Rocky series is perfect so please leave it alone.
