If you aren't moved to tears by the obvious love and passion this man has for the show, you must be dead inside.

If you aren't moved to tears by the obvious love and passion this man has for the show, you must be dead inside. "Valued global brands...global intellectual property". So, in other words, he sees it as little more than a corporate commodity. Twat. No wonder Jodie's Doctor openly praises "the systems" and demonises rebellious activists in the episode "Kerblam"- it's what the era is all about!

True, but Fatheads view of the series wasn't really much better, except viewed through the eyes of an egotistical comicbook guy.

True, but Fatheads view of the series wasn't really much better, except viewed through the eyes of an egotistical comicbook guy. I'm unsure what view he really had, to be honest. Political commentary in his era typically consisted of "See? Look how politically aware I am! I referenced Tony Blair in literal *and* metaphorical terms!" without actually delving any deeper in any way. It's all surface-level. The belittling commentary regarding fat people (portraying them all as materialistic, shallow and moronic) is pretty awful though. Voyage of the Damned and Partners in Crime are the worst for that.

It's RTD's most objectionable quality, for me. He expects everyone to have compassion for all the gay characters he writes about now but was the first to sneer at fat people, old women for looking tired (Harriet Jones), Ian Levine (Love & Monsters)... In other news, despite all the talk online about a Nu Who multi-Doctor story I guess there's not much chance of them teaming up with Bruno Langley and Noel Clarke's companions?

Which was odd, given Davies wasn't exactly svelte himself!

Oh dear god! When was this from?
Chibnall is just hollow in everything he does. The way he writes DW, his politics etc so this should come as no surprise.
I will say though Chibnall has an absolutely horrible relationship with DW overall.
Lets see.
Helped kick it into the dirt when it was at its lowest eb in the 80s.
Was hated by the production team to the point where they had a character based on him, Whizz kid who was killed in Greatest Show in The Galaxy.
Created a terrible spin off show that tanked.
Cast the most universally unpopular actress in the role.
Drove the series into the ground to greater levels than anyone before him.
Got it cancelled a second time.
It's safe to say DW was the worst decision he ever made.

The latest DWM. One of the few times he's bothered to do a Production Notes column. As others have sagely noted, he's suddenly wanting to do one to try and solidify the myth that he's quit, and was always going to quit, rather than the real world one in which he was booted off a failure.
