This might sound a bit petty, but given how much shit I got from pretty much everywhere. (Even on Archive) for being opposed to a female Doctor, I can't help but feel vindicated that it turned out to be a bigger disaster than I ever thought it would. I'm just annoyed I can't rub it in the face of a lot of the twats of the IMDB board LOL. So many there who treated me like a crazy person for saying everything that is now just accepted, the Doctor can't be ANYONE, the show is being taken over by a pushy political ideology etc. I was saying all of this back in 2014 and getting shit for it. I have to agree with many of the others here Burrunjor, and say 'no'. Having seen Jodie in her pre-Who work it was clear her casting was a horrible mix of nepotism and virtue-signalling over talent. Her turn in Broadchurch was adequate, perhaps it suited her narrow range (playing the wispy, wimpy victim), but playing the Doctor was so out of her range that even Chibbers turning her into a female Tennant was doomed. Even in these days of short attention spans if someone tuned in to the Mork Doctor gurning and lesbian flirting with her pisspoor companion no-one would ever think of her as the Doctor. But I don't think us saying 'told you so' works because we're still seen as the stubborn resistance. I get the feeling the BBC are all too aware it's failed, judging by the perceived lack of interest or convincing gossip about her and chubbers' replacements. Even they've faced up to the disastrous decline in viewers... Well maybe it's just because I got more abuse for it than anyone else. Everywhere I went I got told I was a sexist, who needed to learn to accept women. Even on both ArcHive and NuHive. Hell even on the Auton Factory (not from Sadako of course, but another user said I just love to rant about women.) That wiki Doctor Who general treated me like I was the unspeakable one. (They did a whole article trashing a guy for quoting Burrunjor.) Then there was the horrible bullying I got on Gallifrey Base, I was even banned from Nu Hive, whilst back in the day Mike and Seal attacked me from all corners about Jodie's casting. Seeing what a lot of these twats all thought would be such a ground breaking, iconic thing just crash and burn and best of all, for all the reasons I said. It was preachy, the politics took precedence over the story, it would lead to a process where people became obsessed with rewriting the past, (as that's the only way the female Doctor could work.) I can't help but feel a bit vindicated. Surely this comment from Whovian Feminism. “Supposedly well-meaning observers always like to come in and say that hardcore fans simply won’t accept a woman portraying the Doctor. This attitude does both the show and our fandom a disservice. While there is always a smattering of assholes to prove this type of attitude does exist, they aren’t even close to a majority. And even if it were true, we should not let the direction of the show be dictated by the worst of its fans. If a misogynistic jerk who disparagingly refers to a woman Doctor as “The Nurse” says he’ll quit watching the show, he’s exactly the type of fan we should be proud to piss off. I promise, plenty of new fans (especially ones with disposable income!) are waiting in the wings to take his place.”
Is even better now given that one of the first areas Jodie crashed and burned was in the merchandise.

I stumbled across one of the debates between yourself, Mike, Lady, etc. on ArcHive last night, and you have every right to feel vindicated. Your predictions were spot on. It's insane that so many people were in complete denial about where the series was heading.

It's insane that so many people were in complete denial about where the series was heading. There was one back in 2016 where I predicted that they would rewrite it so that Hartnell wasn't the first Doctor, and change it so that it was a black woman instead. I'm proud of that post LOL. I made things up with Lady so I don't have any bad feeling towards her anymore, but yeah back then she did what most people like Channel Pup still do incredibly enough, and assume that if you criticise any kind of left wing politics you must be an alt righter. It gets so frustrating. Again I blame the lack of any genuine satire for that. As I am always saying, back in the day you had left wing guys like Frank Zappa, Rik Mayall etc, who provided the best, absolute scathing attacks on the likes of Thatcher, Regan, the Vietnam war, but who were smart, brave and cynical enough to see and call out, phony, poseur, neo liberal lefties who were in it for their careers and mock them. (Hence Rick from the Young Ones with his "Destroy capitalism" one minute and his "that's one thing I'll say about Thatcher she bloody well got the country back on its feet" the next LOL.) However again today's comedians treat these phony lefties as though they are f*cking Martin Luther King and as a result the only people criticising them are right wingers like Sargon of Akkad, and Paul Joseph Watson. It's a sign of how bad things are when Chibnall can be considered left wing. The man doesn't have a political bone in his body. His politics are the most shallow, embarrassing, and out of touch imaginable. Chibnall's great political stories honestly remind me of this hilarious video from Ricky Gervais. This is his character from The Office, David Brent's song "Equality Street" that is designed to tackle racism. It's exactly like Chibbers. Stupid middle aged out of touch guy who thinks he is radical for saying the bleeding obvious like "black and gay people are equal to us." Who ironically tolkenises all the minorities he has in his video as trophies to boast about, hires a black guy who actually isn't great because he is black, and ironically for all his virtue signalling stereotypes minorities with his " a hiddly hiddly hiddly bum bum bum." Much like Chibbers dressing his lesbian, transgender Doctor in an LGBT flag and having his female Doctor break a glass ceiling both in the trailer and the show LMAO. Pretty much Chibbers version of DW.

It still boggles the mind that anyone gave the green light to that trailer. They may as well have just had Jodie giving the audience the finger at the end of it, since that's what it was designed for anyway...

They may as well have just had Jodie giving the audience the finger at the end of it, since that's what it was designed for anyway... God is this hilarious in hindsight. I actually think Equality Street was more subtle and poignant LOL. PS one of the top comments stole Rob's old joke from ArcHive god damn it! Did anyone else feel like they were watching a disney channel promo rather than a doctor who promo
Meanwhile this song sums up my feelings on the shit I got on IMDB, ArcHive, from gits like Paul Beardsley and Culfy, when I said that Missy was a sign the SJWs were going to take over the show and it was going to be nothing but propaganda, that a female Doctor was a bad idea, that constantly rewriting the shows lore would tie it up in knots. (PS this song is from a genuinely talented female entertainer, and one who in my opinion doesn't get enough credit. Maxil you should check her out, you'd love her!)
