I'm currently enjoying Revenge of the Cybermen, but I don't like any of the other stories in this season. The Ark in Space I found particularly disappointing because it was supposed to be good but ended up being a bit pants. Genesis is the most overrated story ever and the Sontaran story lacks any sort of atmosphere and feels cheap and suspenseless. Robot didn't particularly interest me either. I don't understand why some fans consider this the high point of the classic series. I just feel so lost watching Hinchcliffe era Who. I don't know what it is, but it just isn't for me. It feels so hollow to me at times. Of course I'm enjoying Revenge, but it seems like Gerry Davis thought it was still the Troughton era when he wrote it.

Season 12 is pretty bland. Though Revenge is probably the worst. I enjoy the Sontaran one but it generally lacks the horror factor of the rest of the era and comes off as yet another Pertwee season (probably because they were all commissioned by Letts). It's not terrible but it's probably my least favourite Tom season (18 at least has Decay).

It's alright. Generally a middle of the road season although I've always found it mirrors 18 in that both have a string of decent to great episodes bookended by two misfires and don't belong in the era tonally wise (As Ian noted, 12 feels more like a leftover Pertwee season and 18 feels more of a prototype for the Davison era).
