Whenever people mention Season 26 they usually mention how great the last three stories are but never really give Battlefield any praise. Personally I think it's really fun and might have been on Fenric's level if the direction was a bit better and the tone a bit darker. As it is, the story is a good season opener with plenty of action and intrigue. A fantastic send off for the Brig.

I like it. It is the weakest of the season but it's still great fun.

Watched Battlefield recently and (mostly) enjoyed it. Episode 1 rattles along at a fair old pace and is full of so many wild ideas (interdimensional knights, Morgaine the witch queen, archaeological sites, the Brigadier and his wife Doris, the nuclear convoy, the new Brigadier Bambera, the return of Bessie, etc). McCoy is fun and funny in this ( my fave scene is when he walks into the hotel bar in the morning and wakes up Bambera and Ancelyn by blowing up a crisp packet, popping it, and then walks back out again).
On the downside, it looks rather cheap and tatty and the Knights could have done with looking a bit more futuristic and a touch less Medieval, but you can't have everything. The Destroyer design was very impressive (even though he doesn't do very much). Reminds me a bit of the DC comics series 'Camelot 3000' (1982 - 1985) and the series 'Knights of God'(1987) - there was definitely an Arthurian/Sci Fi connection going on in the '80s.
