Honestly I like the look of the film so far. While it seems to be taking ideas from Part II, the idea of the towns people going out in mobs to try and get Michael is an intreasting one. I expect that to have some negative outcomes, like with Part II were someone dressed like Michael got runover a police officer. I also like the idea their running with, in that Michael a pure evil thing that seems to grow stronger the more he kills. While rather nebulous, it plays into the aspect of Michael they wanted to work with in this series. A Michael unchained from poor script ideas that bound him through the other films, such as being Lorrie's brother and the terrible curse of thorn idea. It also allows Michael to be an ever growing threat, though I hope that they either don't fully explain the reasons for why he is this way or have a bloody good answer if they do.
Also the fanboy in me hopes this will allow Michael to kick Jason's ass if he grows stronger the more people he kills.

Oh, give it a rest. Really, poor old Michael Myers should be sent to "Forest Lawns" or the glue factory by now. He must be shagged out. Really, how many films can you possibly make about a guy who goes around stabbing people? As soon as you make a second one, you're already repeating yourself and into diminishing returns. John Carpenter knew that and so did Wes Craven, hence them both getting out early.

Really, how many films can you possibly make about a guy who goes around stabbing people? Counting the next film, Halloween Ends, 12 in total. What can I say, it's certainly nothing ground breaking but I love slashers as I like movie monsters. I certainly enjoy more intellectual films and new good ones, but sometimes I just want a good old slasher flick, with some new window dressing. I am not saying it's the next big thing, I just like what I like.

2018 was awful. No interest in this timeline. I'll stick with the 20th century ones. The series should have ended with H20.

I've never seen any of them, but Jamie Lee Curtis is a very beautiful woman.

You should watch the original at the very least!
