Any fans of this series here?
I've watched South Park on and off throughout it's entire run. Overall I think that it's a great series. I think South Park is really one of the last pieces of true satire left today. As I am always pointing out, most modern comedians are cowards and only go after targets the media say are safe to go after.
South Park however genuinely does go after everyone. The SJWs, Trump supporters, Muslims, Christians, Jews, Scientologists, etc. I also like the way they use all racial stereotypes. I lost a lot of respect for both Family Guy and The Simpsons for the way they pandered to BLM and other activists. The Simpsons took away Apu for being racist, whilst that asshole Mike Henry stopped voicing Cleveland because he felt it was racist for a white man to voice a black character. Yeah that's fine except for the fact that both shows feature stereotypes of other races. Wimpy, four eyed money grubbing Jews, pasty skinned, broken teethed English, psycho, violent Scots, effeminite, cowardly, pompous French men, fat, lederhozen wearing Germans etc. Now all of those jokes come over as genuinely racist, as it is basically saying "one rule for this group, another for this one" which is where real prejudice begins.
South Park however just keep offending everyone with stereotypes for every race and group LOL.
Of course that's not to say that all of South Park's humour is good. Sometimes their humour can get nasty in a stupid way. I never like jokes about people's looks as I think they are shallow, stupid and anyone could do them. Added to that sometimes I disagree strongly with the messages in an episode, but still overall I do respect the fact that they are the only true satirists left today.

I agree with you here. South Park is one of the last true comedy’s that I have any respect for these days as they consider everyone fair game. The show also possess a level of quality its peers lack these days (they have bad days episodes like everyone else though), and it’s even will to change its formula to stay fresh.
This allows me to enjoy the show even when I don’t agree with it, and the creators are willing to admit when their wrong sometimes. I think their lowest point was when they got a little to caught up in the Trump fever, though in fairness they took the piss out of Hillary to and nones perfect. Also they’ve made up for that poor season with a lot of their new material.

The Simpsons took away Apu for being racist Yeah, he only became racist 30 odd years after the introduction of the character. What a load of bullshit. Dr. Hibbert's voice has changed too as he was originally voiced by a white man. That probably means Karl as well. Just end the show. It hasn't been good since Season 9 anyway.

It's truly embarrassing to watch these people capitulate to these loony wankers.

I'm so glad Futurama was cancelled in hindsight. I love the show, but it probably would have been dragged out beyond its natural life like the Simpsons too if it had been as popular.

I’m actually watch the Jim Henson Dinosaurs sitcom series at the moment. It’s actually a pretty amazing show and likewise I’m glade it only lasted four seasons. Had it gone longer it likely would have lost its magic.

I do admire them for being so bold to do something like that, but I'm not sure it was such a good ending for a family friendly show. I remember the Simpsons writers accusing the show of being a rip off of theirs and bashing it. That always pissed me off. FFS Simpsons don't have a monopoly on family sitcoms. In that case they are a rip off of The Flinstones. They were always up themselves though the Simpsons writers.

I agree the ending was incredibly dark, but then then it was a message out global warming and how, despite our seeming supremacy on this planet, we humans can go the way of the Dinosaurs if we're not careful. It's a pretty heavy subject and I give them props for not pulling their punches on it. I hated when the Simpsons did that also. It's also clear they didn't actually bother watching much of the show given that the watered it done to two flintstone style jokes and the baby hitting Earl on the head. The simpson guys always seemed a bit full of themselves, like you say they were not actually that original, as not only did Flintstones beat them to the punch, but Married With Kids started airing the same year as their first short. Dinosaur's itself was an idea Jim Henson had had years prior to his death. But who won in the end I ask? The show that lasted 4 season but was good and ended on a high (if dark) note or the show that has gone on so long that it's best years were over 20 years ago and it's no sunk so low that it's fighting in the mud with Family Guy for attention and is so pathetic that the slightest hint of controversy make it wimper in fear. The simpsons used to thrive on controversy, as did many shows and South Park still dose. Now their just pathetic and I'll take my 90's Dinosaur Sitcom any day.
