I should probably explain what I mean by a Ducky.
This is a new phrase I have coined. I hope it catches on LOL. Please go out and share it with your friends. It refers to a particular type of woman. Duckies are always sweet, bubbly, up beat and very much a glass half full type of person. They may often be quite nerdy, or awkward but in an extremely endearing and sweet way. They will always be the heart of any group they are a part of. I'm not saying they'll be the leader or the mother figure or anything. However they will be the only person that gets on with every member of the group. They will always be nice and polite to everyone, not because they are wimpy, or desperate to be liked. They're just that type of person. They'll make everyone in the group feel welcome, will usually be the only person to talk to the socially awkward or shy member and even invite them out on events. Also if there is ever any ganging up on someone in a group, the Ducky will be the first to call it out and tell people to stop.
You often won't be able to tell who a Duckies best friend is, as they will be close with everyone in the group LOL.
I LOVE Duckies. I've known so many girls that are Duckies at Uni and at work. In fact it's only because of the Duckies I've known that I have any friends, as it's through them that someone like me who can be a bit shy feels comfortable around people.
I think everyone knows a Ducky at some point in their lives. Share any stories you have with people like that. Ducky's give me hope for the human race.
Meanwhile famous women I think are Ducky's include Stacey Solomon, Freema Agyeman, and Morgana Robinson. Morgana is so sweet to her fans, as is Freema, whilst Stacey is the epitome of a Ducky. Hell she's queen of the Duckies!
Fictional characters that are Duckies meanwhile include Tara from Buffy and Fred from Angel. (I liked the way that they were the only people that Spike was able to get on with LOL. He's such an asshole only the Duckies would give him the time.)
It's named after the famously adorable character from The Land Before Time, Ducky who is similarly bubbly, sweet, up beat, and the only one that gets on with everyone and similarly you can't tell who her best friend is among the group.
Ironically despite being a talking Dinosaur, Ducky is one of the most well observed characters of all time. Yep, Yep, Yep, Yep!
