I meant the revelation about the monsters in it as opposed to pyjama man crashing to his doom at the end, but either applies...
I suppose a twist in the Nu Who era is a story where Barrowman hasn't exposed his nob on-set!

In todays world you've got the devils own work keeping anything secret. With phones and the internet, it's very easy for information to get out and leak it's way to the public... when the idiots are just doing it themselves like when they gave Sim's return as the Master away and took the bite out of his big reveal. That might actually be the best example of an answer to this question in fact.
The later part... f*ck me if only. People act like the companions are so hard done by in Nu Who yet really any consequences get undone almost immediately.

In regards to Adric, the lines "Now I will never know if I was right" would most likely be drowned out by a typically bombastic score accompanied by an equally shit choir.

He'd also scream the lines out loud beyond any and all comprehension. "NOW I'LL NEVER KNOW IF I WAS RIGHT!" *Closes eyes and winces*

True, nuwho writers don’t know the meaning of the world subtle.

I think there's many words nuwho writers don't know the meaning of.

I'm surprised RTD hasn't reshot the ending so the dying cyberman and Adric can be rescued at the last minute by the Tennant Doctor. "I can save everyone!"
