For the love of god, do not hire a yank to run the BBC. Yeah because they could really ruin it. They could horribly miscast the Doctor and the Master for 6 years straight, make the Doctor into a boring, predictable, romantic genre lead, focus on soap opera tedium, rewrite the origins of all the classic villains, make the Doctor into the chosen one and the pivot of the universe, and wallow in tedious identity politics bullshit. Oh no wait a minute? Personally I've always thought John Carpenter would have made an excellent showrunner in the 90s. The duo of John Carpenter and Leonard Nimoy running a Doctor Who series in the 90s with Bruce Campbell as the Doctor would have been an absolute joy to watch and far better than the Fitzroy Crowd's version.
