I don't think it will be Michaela Coel or anyone from Killing Eve. Maybe back in 2013, but now? The show is career poison and they both have careers LOL. Jodie made a mistake. Olivia Coleman wisely turned the show down as she clearly knew it was a sinking ship. Jodie however I have to say was a bit too egocentric, thinking she could blow us away with an amazing performance. They're not going to get anyone well known, and to be honest I can't even see that many up and coming or character actors wanting to play it. Let's be honest if there even is another Doctor it will be the last so who wants to be made the fall guy for Mofftwat and Chinballs failings? But if it's career poison why did Bradley Walsh take it, and John Bishop? Both of them have successful careers, particularly the former who's on virtually every itv show and virtually every quiz program!

Probably because it was the only time either of them could look like Lawrence Olivier next to Jodie, the plank and Yaz. Besides they have supporting roles and even then John Bishop doesn't seem to want to commit. Being the figure head is a whole different thing and Jodie's career is over IMO.

Any update on this?
I just did a search and the latest, top suggestion was 'Julia Foster', with Mr Spunk Hair as her companion - or even as the next Doctor himself! Desperate stuff...

I agree with Rob that I think it could be RTD's twinkie Russell Tovey. To be honest for the first time I'm doubting if even RTD can make it a big success again. I don't mean for me. Obviously he'd never do what I want with it LOL, but I mean for the GP. 2 million really is shocking viewers. Jodie's last episode may very well only get 1 million now. It's a real possibility.

A lot of Fathead fans are getting excited by his return to the programme, what they're not taking into account however is that when the BBC ran the show they still had, no matter how slight, a tethering influence on Fatheads excesses. Now that anchor is no longer there, Fathead will probably sullify and screw the canon even worse than Chinballs has. His excesses were always the worst thing about his era first time around, second time around and amplified I imagine it will be mostly unwatchable moron'o'vision stuff for spoon-fed cabbages.

True, but there is still the tethering influence of Bad Wolf and BBC Studios, who have taken control precisely because they want to make money, for which popularity is needed. Not that I'm holding my breath.

To be fair to Bradley Walsh, he took it when everyone was expecting a success. And Bishop took it because he couldn't do his usual standup tours in the midst of the pandemic, and needed the dosh. I also doubt he was remotely aware of how awful and unpopular it is, given the way it was, until recently at least, ferociously protected by the lamestream media.

They can keep dreaming, none of his post who work gives me any indication he’s going to save the show. He might be more competent but it was him that started nuwho down this road in the first place. Just like the Doctor keeps reverting to Tentwat for fear of change, nuwho always falls back on this smug wankers frame. His coming back is the ingest black mark on nuwho record because it’s that formulaic and creatively bankrupt we need to drag out the guy everyone’s been copying since 2010. Pathetic.

There are all these rumours that the new series will a full on reboot basically starting over with a new First Doctor but if that was the case wouldn't it be casting for a first doctor not a fourteenth.
