Remembrance of the Daleks is quite simply a masterpiece. Not only is it the best directed story of the series, but it also reinvented the entire show with a truly magnificent script that moved the show forward while setting it in familiar surroundings. It's stunning television. The Curse of Fenric goes one step further and delivers what is perhaps the most dramatic tale, with the story's tense moments far greater than that of the new series finales. It's a beautifully crafted tale with multiple layers and a sense of foreboding lingering throughout. It is a mature story with subtle references to sexuality and faith. Both are clearly top of the list as far as Doctor Who stories go, but are they the very best? I think, and I honestly mean this, that no other story of the classic story is on the same level as these two stories. They're simply the greatest. Nothing comes close to either of them.
