I remember this scene from South Park that is honestly weird and a little disturbing. Okay most of South Park is that, which is why we love it LOL.
Still with this scene I have 0 idea what they were going for? Basically the plot is this teacher Richard is a tormented character whose wife was killed in a plane accident, and we keep seeing these flashbacks to it. His wife is shown in live action however and her death is insanely over the top, and it keeps playing at random moments throughout the episode.
I don't know if it's a reference to a movie? Or is it just designed to parody action movies that often have a character who is tortured by a loved one's death like this (the South Park boys are the best at parodying action movie cliches as seen in Team America haha.) Or is it designed to deliberately be mental, I admit it is absolutely hysterical that we see this real woman having this love affair with a badly drawn cartoon character. Or is it meant to be a little bit genuinely touching (I did always feel sorry for her husband when he runs out of nicotine gum and breaks down, though why he thinks nicotine gum can ease his pain over her death I don't know? Also why not just buy some more LOL.)
Knowing them it's probably the latter, but it could be all of the above and 20 plus years on, it's still insane and out of place.
Any other moments like this in tv shows that come out of nowhere, are completely at odds with everything else and still seem weird decades later?

Sorry I thought I posted this in the all the other bollocks section LOL. Can someone switch it to that? You could always copy your original post, delete this thread, and paste the post into a new thread in the “bollocks” section. (Assuming the thread CAN be deleted- given that there’s now more than one post in there, I’m unsure if it can…)

My advice: The next time you post a thread in the incorrect section, copy it, delete it, and paste it elsewhere without drawing attention to it.
