to black people. He is now to be called the Guardian of Chaos. Cool shirt by the way, not dissing that, but yeah this seems to be why the BBC have changed his name. So that's Davros being able bodied because having him be disabled is offensive, Celestial Toy Maker has to be the Toymaker because that's offensive (never mind being played by a corpse, cannibal fetishist.) This is basically DW at this stage.

Forgive my asking, but precisely how many black people on record have expressed offence at the Black Guardian’s name? Was this ever a talking point anywhere in the fandom beforehand?

"I had long conversations with myself about watching Doctor Who again, because it was a fantastic show, [but] time and society and culture and taste has moved on. And there's a problem with the Doctor Who of today in that it’s shit. And I had problems with that. And a lot of the public had problems with that, of seeing a once brilliant show wrecked by egotistical, clueless morons. And trust me, there's a very long tradition of this.
"So [we] made the choice to not bother watching anymore [we can live] without the lecturing and without the posturing – or the terrible concepts, which function as a plot.
"I say, this is how we see the show now. This is 2024. This is our lens. This is our eye, and it deserves to be unsullied. Things used to be black and white, they're not in black and white anymore, and Doctor Who used to be brilliant and it now it isn’t, and that we are absolutely standing by."

Again nothing against the shirt or whoever made it, it's just the stupid decision from above. I feel sorry for whoever made the shirt. Get a dream job making merchandise for your favourite show and a stupid decision from above means all anyone will talk about is the controversy around it.

I think the implications of "Chaos" are unfortunate. I'd much prefer "Guardian of Colour"...
