It's odd looking at sets I've bought over the last few years and seeing how expensive they are now. The original Superman movies boxset used to be £14.99 on Amazon and now it's £24.99. The Stallone Collection was also £14.99 but is now £19.99. Back to the Future is now £13.99 compared to £10.99 when I got it. I didn't even buy any of these in a sale. Why is there such a price increase?

What gets me is its always the old -good - stuff. Modern crapola you can usually pick up for peanuts after a few months. The old stuff? Practically need a bank loan.

It's even worse when certain labels release older films and bump up the price to about £15 for it. You can get newer movies for less than £5 on some occasions.

I'm not going after people for buying certain things, but I've never understood the appeal of paying £30 for a steelbook version of The Celestial Toymaker animation or the Daleks in the Colour. Are they really that special?

The people who buy them might be.

I still don't have a Blu-Ray player at all. I just watch my stuff on my old DVDs. Or if I really need crystal clear clarity, I download what I have on DVD to my laptop in 1080p

Some people don't realize certain things aren't on Blu ray (and will most likely never be). if you're not fussed about picture quality there's really no need to upgrade. I find Blu rays a superior experience personally, but because of the price it's hard to collect them like I used to with DVDs. I'd never upgrade to 4K or anything.

I'm not buying them all again on 4K. Blu ray is as good as you need.
