Hello, fellow Doctor Who fans! I have a question that's been on my mind lately. As much as I enjoy the Classic Series companions, I can't help but wonder what it would have been like if the Doctor had a gothic companion by his side. Someone who embraced the darker, more mysterious aspects of their adventures. While characters like Victoria were lovely, they sometimes seemed a bit overwhelmed by the strangeness of it all. But imagine a companion who reveled in the macabre and the unexplained – someone who could match the Doctor's eccentricity and enthusiasm for the bizarre. I believe a gothic companion could have brought a unique perspective to the Doctor's investigations into the alien and the fortean. Their love for all things spooky and supernatural would have perfectly complemented the Doctor's scientific curiosity. So, what do you think? Would a gothic companion have made a good sidekick for the Doctor in the Classic Series? I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas on this!

I'd have loved that. I think a reformed lesser vampire minion of the Great Vampires would have been cool. They did come a bit close with Magz in Greatest Show of the Galaxy becoming his companion in the audios.

They did come a bit close with Magz in Greatest Show of the Galaxy becoming his companion in the audios. Ooh, a reformed lesser vampire minion – I'm loving that concept! It opens up so many delicious possibilities for character development and juicy storylines. Just imagine the tension and drama as she struggles against her dark nature while trying to do the right thing alongside the Doctor. 😈 And you're so right about Mags from 'The Greatest Show in the Galaxy' – she definitely had that edgy, outsider vibe that would be perfect for a gothic companion. It's fantastic that they explored her character more in the audio dramas. I'm thrilled that my little post has sparked such an engaging discussion! Keep those ideas coming – I'm all ears (and fangs! )
