Which do you prefer between Bottom and Peep Show.
Honestly it's hard for me to choose. Bottom was far more original, creative, anarchic and is a once in a life time type of show. The chemistry, energy, devotion that Rik and Ade had with each other is quite special and could never be replicated. Peep Show in all honesty as great as its two leads were I could imagine it being remade with other people. There was apparently an American remake that contrary to what you might expect wasn't that bad. (The love interest was even played by Dana DeLorenzo. I guess the El Dude brothers have a better taste in women, given Dana and Ingrid Oliver have both been their love interests LOL. Though one of the Hammersmith Hardmen did perform on stage with Amy Winehouse.)
Still that said Peep Show did last for 9 series and I think maintained its quality right the way throughout. You definitely couldn't get that out of Bottom. (No pun intended LOL.) Even the later live shows whilst fun, did tend to recycle a lot of material and Ade eventually had to pull the plug because he felt it was running out of steam.
I'm going to ultimately say Bottom as it is a childhood favourite, but Peep Show is still one of the best British sitcoms of all time.
Also the El Dude brothers ate a dog on their own violation, where as the Hammersmith hardmen only ate a dog because they lost a bet.

I liked Peep Show better. Very funny stuff. Bottom was good, but Rik and Ade get a bit samey after a while. But if it was between Peep Show and The Young Ones, I'd definitely pick The Young Ones.

Having a rewatch of Peep Show now. It really is painful in some places like the infamous dog episode (which I'm amazed didn't trend after the debate) and the wedding episode and of course Osgood raping him. It's funny I saw so many people go on about great actors with a wide range who you didn't recognise in two roles on twitter the other day and nobody mentioned adorkable Osgood being tomboy rapist Natalie. I mean if that's not range what is? She's definitely wasted as an actress. So much better than Michelle Gomez.

I never really watched either. Peep Show was long after my time in the UK, no idea whether it was ever on in Aussieland.
