I can never entirely hate Big Finish, because their Blake's 7 range has been just as good as the original show. Stuff like The Armageddon Storm I'd actually say is integral to getting the full experience of that show.

I think this will suit Whittaker. She has the voice for it. I'm just happy that we've got these two lovelies back for a bit. Anything is better than waaah waaah waahh Gatwa flooding the sets with his endless tears.

Jodie should stick to singing. I want a Jodie album god damn it. I've only listened to her cover of Yellow 1000000000 times in a row. By the time it gets to 2000000000000000 times in a row I might start to get tired of it and want another song for her to cover. At any rate it seems the folks at Big Finish aren't too pleased with Jodie's appearances on tv LOL. Look at this. LOL he must have got mixed up and thought it was like twitter where all his likes where hidden. Going to be pretty awkward if that was Nick Briggs when they are both in the recording booth. I remember Paloma Faith describing an incident like that where she made a joke about how it was better than this shit song that was in the charts, unaware that her producer had written that and was right next to her haha.

The fact that they’re back so soon to do so much is telling.
Matt Smith and Karen Gillan are major Hollywood stars. Peter Capaldi continues to have high-profile roles in film and TV. Arthur Darvill and Jenna Coleman have had plenty of respectable work in British TV and theatre. It took Tennant six years to come back and record just three episodes per year. Eccleston only did it while the pandemic limited his opportunities elsewhere and f*cked off again as suddenly as he arrived.
So for these two to feel the need to come back and record an entire series worth of episodes less than two years after leaving speaks volumes about the damage being associated with Chibnall’s crap has done to their career prospects outside of the NuWho bubble.
I have nothing against them as people. Hopefully they get to do some half-decent stories for a change, and hopefully the realisation of how much they missed out on by being lumbered with Chibnall’s dross doesn’t sting too much.
However, I certainly won’t be listening to any of them. I remember being somewhat open to the possibility of Jodie being redeemed by Big Finish in 2018/2019, but that was before The Timeless Children. As a consequence of that shitshow, my position remains that anything even vaguely connected to NuWho post-2017 must be rejected regardless of its merits in isolation.

Outside of New Who having nothing against Jodie and Mandip as people. Two big nosed beauties, I also love how comfortable they are hugging each other (always a sign of how much of a Ducky someone is.) However I agree that nothing connected with Jodie era Who is worth salvaging as a sequel to the original for me due to the timeless children and to be honest due to the female Doctor idea. Sorry I know it's obvious from my posts that I just despise women in every way LOL, but a female Doctor's a deal breaker to me. It's fine in a remake or fan film sure, but no I just will not buy that Hartnell is a woman, simple as that, so yeah even before timeless children I'd never have thought the 13th Doctor could have been redeemed. Given better stories yes, but the 13th Doctor will never seem like a proper version of the character to me because of her gender change. It's too forced and jarring with what came before.

Mandip Gill just received an honorary diploma from Lancashire University. Just a reminder that Chibnall and the cast also received honorary doctorates from the University of Sheffield. You can't make this shit up.

You can't make this shit up. What for? Having the sexiest onscreen mother? Do they give diploma's for that? If so yeah I can understand but otherwise? Ah well good luck to her she is cute and nice, but I can't imagine any companion from the classic era getting one for two and a half seasons LOL.

I'm reminded of that Stan Lee/Steve Ditko Spider-Man issue where Sandman threatened a principle and demanded he hand him a diploma, but the guy stood his ground and said it had to be earned.

Hmm. I'll pass on that. I wonder how Jodie will vocally convey "gurning"...?
I think the only time I have listened to a Big Finish production was "The light at the end" - the 50th one?
It was OK as a bit of anniversary pageantry - might have to see if I can find it for another listen, because after the 60th "celebrations" it is bound to sound like a f***ing masterpiece.
With BF, though - always up for suggestions for other stories that are actually good, and reflect what made DW great in the first place...

The Appocalypse Element The Enemy of The Daleks Masters of War (that's actually the David Warner Doctor but still great.) Holy Terror Terror Firma Chimes of Midnight Legend of the Cybermen Colditz Not DW related but I'd strongly recommend their Dracula series. Mark Gatiss may be hit or miss as a writer of DW but he is excellent at playing vampires.

I'll add the Invention of Death. It's Bradley's First Doctor, but still the most heartbreaking and imaginative Doctor Who audio I've heard. Fits perfectly in the 1960s too.

Thank you! I'll look into those Also, BTW, love Blake7... but more as a memory to be fair... not watched it for a long time. But when a show gets in your head like that one did (last ep was devastating at the time- yep, I am that old...)... you know it is good. Wonder if, in 43 years time, people will be going "Yeah, remember "Space Babies"? - that was f'ing amazing..." Spoilers. No. No they won't.
