Well at the end look at what RTD did to Tennant's doctor par see end of time and overt romance too ever since the tv movie we have gotten the doctor has to be in love the closest we ever saw that in classic series was in the Aztecs no the doctor does not need to be in love all the time sorry no just no .

Well lets see...
The Doctor is much more well rounded alien character, with strengths and flaws. Unlike nuwho he is written as genuinely intelligent, with a thought process and deductive skills, unlike nuwho Doctor who just can just think of any old bullshite on the fly and make up a load of bollocks out of thin air. He's asexual, completely removing the sex element from all his relationships and their for is able to have much healthier, mature relationships with his companions. He's also an ever-evolving character, rather then always regressing into the behaviour of a single popular persona. He's also not the highest authority or a lonely god, he is just a traveller who helps were he can.
He's a hero unlike any other.
The stories are better written, generally, with a better format to develop their plots and characters. The style of stories also evolved over time instead of being stuck in the same pattern for years, only changing because of outside factors hamstringed the production.
The companions were far more intreasting and diverse, who where travailing companions that wanted adventures. Best of all they were not hanging around because they were gaging to suck on the Doctor's knobend/vagflaps.
The show had no budget, no support from the high ups and fought against all manner if backlash, controversies and hardships, yet ran for 26 seasons telling fun stories across time and spaces.
