With news of RTD and Kurtzman meeting at Comic-Con, do you think RTD will push to finally have that crossover he wanted back in 2005? There were talks to have the Doctor meet the crew of Star Trek: Enterprise.
I suppose now the most likely team-up would be with the Strange New Worlds cast.

A Star Trek/Doctor Who crossover would have been sheer joy back in the 70s with Jon Pertwee and William Shatner. Trek and Who would have to have taken place in different universes, of course, with the Doctor slipping into theirs. Still the Pertwee and TOS era had somewhat similar styles I think and I would have loved to have seen what would win Venusian Karate or the Kirk chop. (Shatner and Pertwee's ego's would be so big neither would have allowed the other to win so it would have to have been a draw haha.)
Now however that they are both bad parodies of themselves, it's just another thing to feel bitter about like the return of William Russell or possibly Carole Ann Ford. Yeah those are things we'd have liked to have seen, but in the hands of these mediocre hacks?

I think Star Trek is actually doing much better now than it was in the 2010s. Strange New Worlds isn't a classic, but it's respectable. I enjoyed the episodes I saw.

I heard the second season was pisspoor compared to the first. Personally I can't take anything seriously with these endless recasts. You do not recast Shatner and Nimoy. They're just incapable of doing what Gene Roddenberry himself did with TNG, making new characters to become icons, so instead they keep endlessly recycling prequels and recasting characters that should never ever have been recast.

There's nothing wrong with a good recast. Obi-Wan Kenobi arguably improved.

I heard the second season was pisspoor compared to the first. Not far wrong. The appeal of these things don't last beyond the novelty factor, because they're not truly original. They're just cash-ins.

There's nothing wrong with a good recast. Obi-Wan Kenobi arguably improved. This might be the worst opinion on Star Wars I've ever heard. Some wooden, flanderised version of the character that's only notable because he features in so many memes mocking the films he stars in, versus the inimitable Alec Guinness? Come on.
