It's given licence for all those fan film makers to pretend like their Doctors are legit and canon.
I fully realise this is old man grumbling from me, but all this Purple Doctor/Dawn Doctor posturing is so incredibly cringy. Just have him be some unnamed Doctor and embrace that you're making a nerdy fan film.

My fan film is an alternate universe even within its own canon LOL. I'd never dream of making my Doctor legit and quite frankly I wouldn't want him to be. Again I don't want to touch Classic Who, I want to leave it as is.
I might add the Timeless Children is a stupid way for every Doctor including the fan ones to be canon, considering a lot of them are shown to regenerate from existing Doctors, or encounter the Daleks before Hartnell, the Master before Hartnell, or see things like Gallifrey being blown up etc.
Between the Timeless Children and wibbly wobbly timey wimey, new who has been guilty of some of the laziest writing in the last ten years.

I confess I've never watched The Timeless Children and only know about the change from the RTD era and fans on here. I find it quite disrespectful to Hartnell personally. Then again, NuWho seem content on pissing all over the man's legacy.

It's a morbidly funny episode in that most of it's literally just Sacha Dhawan monologuing, like he's holding a presentation.

Speaking of the Timeless Children, look at big finish's latest release. Jo Martin, John Hurt's Doctor, Benny Summerfield and Queen Elizabeth 1 take on the Voord. I mean Jesus Christ, you really can't parody Big Finish can you? What would the modern day version of the Dick Briggs account do that Big Finish themselves haven't already done?

They know that brand worshippers will eat it up no matter what, so they don't have to try any harder than lame mashups with lots of bells and whistles

Lisa Bowerman bears a stunning resemblance to Amanda Tapping there

She totally looks like Amanda there and that's a compliment.

The most annoying part has nothing to do with Chibnall, but rather Russell's obsession with making it a core part of his new series. He will not hesitate to "break" canon again. movieweb.com/doctor-who-russell-t-davies-break-canon-again/""It's destroyed Atlantis three times in its history and if someone came to me tomorrow with a great story about the destruction of Atlantis, I'd do it again. In the 1960s, with William Hartnell, they went to Troy and did the wooden horse... that so wouldn't stop me doing Troy and the wooden horse again now. I'd do it again now. That's not a spoiler – I'm not doing it! But you'd just put in one line, 'Oh, a glitch in time, we're here again!' - RTD I love one of the comments on the article: "I'm too lazy to come up with something original so I don't care if I rewrite already written episodes"

He will only do this to the classic series. As if he's going to bugger up his own work.
