Clara's horrible personality drags her down for me. Series 7 Clara is girl next door wife material. That's the Clara I love and remember. Not sure what happened in the Capaldi era.

I was a bit of a fan of La Gillan back then, and I found the character more likeable than Clara, who feels like she'd be very high maintenance compared to Amy who is essentially much simpler, but more endearing.

As an aside, my wife likes historical pulp like "Victoria". But I always felt Jenna Coleman was far too attractive to play a young Queen Victoria. Victoria was short and dumpy, and bore a facial resemblance to Natalie Casidy, who would've been a much better choice than Coleman who must surely have been picked because she's pretty.

What Ludders said.
Amy's hotter and, for all her bravado, ultimately sweeter. Jenna's pretty but the character put me off too.

I think when Amy left... although not just because of that... was when I began to give up on Doctor Who as it was then...
PC was woefully undeserved but "and the shepherd's boy says" is amazing (IMO). As for the rest...
But forget all that. Yes, Amy every time. Saw her in real life at a convention once. Was funny and engaging and lovely.
Not saying JLC isn't but I found her character insufferable, from pretty much the moment a plane didn't crash into her house.

Heaven Sent exists in a weird sort of vacuum. If Moffat put a quarter of the effort he put into that to the rest of his era, we'd have a whole different thing going on...

I remember watching it at the time thinking "yeah, this is great. We're finally back on track...' ..and then the next episode happened. ...aaand clearly we were off the tracks and over edge and into the depths of Clayton/Eastwood Ravine... ...but without the lovely resolution.

Here lies sweet innocent Maxil who passed away on the 3rd of April 2010 when a delectable redhead in police uniform appeared in Doctor Who.

You all be liking die redheads. Sorry, Burrunjor is going to kill me for this. Me too lol. I loved Neil's performance. Oh don't ever feel like you can't show appreciation of him and his performance. Even I admit the "Vell that's alright then" was a great meme. I'd be a hypocrite if I said NPH is too much of a horrible person to like considering one of my favourite films is The Witches which is based on a book by a guy who said "The Jews are a problem. Even a stinker like Hitler didn't go after them for no reason." Also it stars Anjelica Huston who though being the woman that made me realize how fun women are to look at (and be dominated by. Especially when they're tall, dark haired and have huge schnozzes) She sadly seems to be a bit of a narcissist in real life if that interview is anything to go by, where she acts like Bill Murray is a wanker for ignoring her on set, yet says she'd happily work with Roman Polanski again. I mean for the record Bill Murray IS a wanker by all accounts, but still he's hardly Polanski's level. Then she mentions one guy hitting her is unacceptable which is obviously true, but later mentions with pride how she beat Jack Nicholson up until he was black and blue! Rare case of I don't think my crush is such a good person LOL. Sometimes you just really have to separate art from the artist. Ironically I'd gotten over the NPH thing by 2022 as it was a decade ago. Search through the Hive and you'll find an old thread from like 2021 where an article was saying he should be cancelled and I said as much as I despise him we couldn't do that. It just made me go on the warpath when he was the Toymaker because. 1/ Its' the new who mob who talk down to the rest of us, and justify vandalizing characters we love on the grounds that they need to make us better people, who hired him. 2/ It's also Disney who well you know what they did and to whom on the grounds that she ruined their image as decent people, that hired him. 3/ Similarly it's stupid fans who relish in getting people banned and fired. I'm not even just talking about Gina Carano here, others like James Dreyfus or Trevor Baxendale, or even just jobbing writers from Big Finish, (who unlike Gina might not have the income and fans to fall back on) these nasty little elitist fandom shits have all got fired, humiliated, slandered, yet they all lined up to kiss NPH's arse like that toad Mr Tardis. These bastards should ALWAYS be called out for their hypocrisy and moral cowardice. Still yes for ordinary people who aren't involved in any of this shit, go ahead and love NPH, he's no worse sadly than a lot of Hollywood creeps.

Got some 8x10 frames for my Jenna prints today. Will probably get another print on eBay. I find I like her Series 7 look a lot more. She looks better with longer hair.
