Harry. He's just a lot of fun and has a lovely and warm rapport with Sarah-Jane. I always liked him being around.

Bill was one of the best New Who companions, but barely anyone ever talks about her. Like I've said before, I like Bill, I think she's sweet, but she's just a tad too nice for my taste. She has a dull charm about her. Whereas Rose had more pronounced character flaws (being a bad girlfriend to Mickey, daddy issues, generally arrogant and naive), Martha had her fractured family and burgeoning medical profession to juggle, Donna was genuinely a nasty person who shouted at the world to make up for her lack of security or motility in life, but really it was all a front for a vulnerable woman approaching middle age feeling like she'd missed the boat and just sort of drifting from day to day without much purpose at all. There was more to sink your teeth into with those companions. Then you had Moffat's mystery box characters as well as the fiery Amy Pond and yeah, Bill is pretty easy to forgot amongst a sea of more fleshed-out, well-realised characters. |

Maybe I just remember her fondly for being a massive improvement over Clara, who can still f*ck off. Worst companion by a mile.

F*ck all this NuWho wankery, I'm going on a tangent and I'm gonna say Sarah with the 3rd Doctor.
People always associate him with Jo, but I was never than keen on Jo. However, I do think there was an under-appreciated chemistry between Jon and Lis for the season they were together, with lots of lovely moments.
And despite the obvious chemistry with Tom, I think Sarah's character was fleshed out better earlier on when she was still a journalist. But after Robot, that aspect gradually dwindled away.

Liz Shaw is my favourite Pertwee companion. It's understated just how perfect she was. I'm gutted she only had four stories. |
