I've been super sick over the past few days, and for some stupid reason I decided to stay up till midnight to watch this. Fell in and out of sleep for the whole rest of the night between bouts of throwing up and half-dreaming about the Sutekh reveal. Thought I'd dreamt the whole thing up in the morning until I went on Reddit.

It does look like Ian was unofficial adviser on the show, I'll give it that. Very strange how RTD was on board for the 80's being up it's own continuity arse criticisms. Then he repeats them exactly, including casting Bonnie Langford! There was that rumour years back that RTD told Michael Grade he was right to cancel the show in the eighties. Then he decides to repeat what JNT did all over again. Very odd behaviour.

He may have simply changed his mind in the intervening years.

Popped over to R/Gallifrey and guess what. No c*nt sounds happy about Sutekh. Most are moaning. They either wanted the Beast instead, are hoping Sutekh & the Beast are the same character or, best of all, bitching that Woolf wasn't recast, which lead to posts in favour of recasting legacy Actors. f*ck me how long has it been since that Jodie era episode with all the cameos, everyone was clapping like performing seals back then. Just how broken is this f*cking fandom that posts like this are the bloody norm. Reddit is I've learned the absolute worst site on the internet over the past few weeks. It is honestly like a lynch mob in digital form. Only good thing I've learned is that it's not just DW fandom, but pretty much every fandom on reddit that is made up of c*nts. That said given the state DW is in, then it seems like the c*ntyness of Reddit does stretch into general fandom too.

A show made by c***s will inevitably attract followers of the same ilk.

Russell: "Well what do you think of last night's episode."
Fan: "Well it's bollocks Russell."
Russell: "No, no, although bollocks is an awfully good writer, we just have a similar style. A lot of people tell me my work looks like bollocks."

It's funny I remember having a conversation with my brother years back I think in Tennant's era. I was beginning to warm to New Who at that point, but he HATED it. He said.
"Imagine if RTD had written Pyramids of Mars instead of Bob Holmes? It would lose all its atmosphere. Sutekh would be a billion foot tall cgi monster, there'd be millions of Sutekhs, the whole world would be aware of it and overly dramatic music would play in every moment, the Doctor would be a blubbing idiot shouting something like "NAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TAAAAAKKKKKKE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" and Sutekh would probably only show up for a few minutes and his role could have been taken by any villain as most of it would be taken up with soap opera shit, and the companion would defeat Sutekh anyway." Let's see how much of that applies to next Saturday's episode.

OK,I am really confused. Firstly, this series was made as a jumping on point to the ignorant yanks. Hence the whole series one part. Now, they put the woke crap in that the ignorant yanks love oh so much, but then,WHY THE f*ck would you introduce a one off character from the classic series that no ignorant yank would possible know who the f*ck they are, and make them your seasons big reveal.
Not only that, why would you make that the cliffhanger of your episode. Imagine if you never watched Star Trek and it ended on Q. You be like, who?
And then your introducing stuff about Susan that more of the ignorant young ones in Britain wouldn't have the foggiest about, let alone the ignorant yanks.
Is it any wonder this series has been an epic failure.

Imagine what the viewers would have been had it been a 12 episode series.

You know what makes it even funnier? Pyramids of Mars was repeated the year it was shown as an omnibus edition over Christmas and that version pulled in 13 million, making it the third highest rated episode in DW's history after Destiny and City of Death.
Sutekh basically did a Michael Keaton, returned to star in a flop. He needs to fire his agent. Marcus Scarman was his best agent for me.
To be fair to Sutekh though he had a writer, Bob Holmes writing for him last time and not a heat magazine loving narcissist like now. A great actor can only do so much with that kind of material.

2.02!!! Remember when RTD used to lord it over the McCoy and Baker eras? This niche viewership makes those look like Royal Wedding ratings. This had to happen, it had to fail with RTD and Tennant and Catherine Tate then RTD writing a whole flop season, apart from a Moffat one, that got even lower ratings. It's totally destroyed the aura of infalibility around Nupoo. Couldn't be happier. Maybe this means adults can take over and make the show good again. Make it like Pertwee's first season like they should have decades ago now the infant minds and egos have been exposed.

Make it like Pertwee's first season like they should have decades ago now the infant minds and egos have been exposed. I don't understand? What went wrong? Why didn't they lap this up? I don't understand it? In all seriousness Ncuti is without doubt the worst Doctor of them all. f*ck me he is woeful. Not even just as the Doctor but as a lead in general. His voice is terrible. That bit where he says "YOU'RE WIRED FOR SOOOOOUND" is possibly the worst line delivery I've ever seen in DW. He is far worse than Jodie. There's honestly no debate. I'm actually glad that even in universe he can be dismissed as he is only playing a clone of the real Doctor who is sitting back in Donna's. I mean we know he isn't the classic Doctors obviously, but to be honest even the new who Doctors like Eccelston and Capaldi don't deserve to know that one day they will become that prick.
