Just read elsewhere that The Doctor's alternative grandchildren from TV Comic John and Gillian exist in Nu Who lore now. They're referenced in the latest Ninth Doctor audio box set where Nine meets River Song. River mentoons them to him in the TARDIS after she finds some of their belongings.

Doctor Who Magazine tried to say they were just figments of The Doctor's imagination in a McGann strip once if I recall...in a comic that was written and drawn in the style of those vintage TV Comics...but that had them still as young children, where as they actually aged up alongside Hartnell and Troughton. (much like Susan, they were abandoned in the far future)
