Although fans and the rumour mill had generally sussed out that this was happening, Moffat has now confirmed he has penned the 2024 Christmas special which will be titled 'Joy To The World', he also says that this is his last Doctor Who script for the time being as he is not involved with the more 'diverse' 2025 series "Joy to the World" will be Moffat's 50th overall script contribution to Doctor Who. cultbox.co.uk/news/headlines/steven-moffat-confirms-he-penned-2024-doctor-who-christmas-special

You just know people are gonna be kissing Moffat's arse. Why? The bloke hasn't written a good script since 2015, and even that was a one-off. Only one of his six series doesn't fall flat on its face. He probably has the worst dud-to-hit ratio in the history of the programme aside from Pip/Jane Baker.

Did you accidentally type Moffat instead of "RTD" there, dude?

RTD oversaw 4 great series of television. I will always stand by that, even if it had its flaws. Moffat delivered one pretty good series (which I'm still not a big fan of for personal reasons) and 5 middling to terrible series which set Doctor Who on a downward trajectory.

There's nothing great about any of series 1-4. They were shit.

He delivered one great series (series 3) as did Moffat (Series 5). Everything else is either OK (series 1, 7, 10) or just plain garbage (series 2, 4, 6, 8, 11 and the rest).

I will always maintain that Series 6 is comfortably superior to any RTD series. It still featured the only genuinely great main cast NuWho ever had, and when examined on an episode-by-episode basis has more in the way of substantial, imaginative science fiction concepts to offer than RTD's first two years combined.

Church of Ruby Road really soured my Christmas evening last year. I'll probably watch this one (sorry, I'm a masochist) but I'll wait until at least Boxing Day. These Christmas specials are not renowned for being particularly good aside from a few Smith efforts and The Next Doctor.

If you have to be a masochist go watch clips of Gina Carano beating guys up, Famke Janssen torturing Owen Wilson or Alti torturing guys and imagine you're them instead of watching this drivel LOL.
