I'm all but out of all modern pop culture now. There's no TV I watch or am looking forward to - hell TV is largely dead, and streaming shows are not real TV anyway in my book - and it's the same with movies. If I'm very lucky I might get a couple of small horror flicks that are decent (none so far this year though) and that's it. This is the issue - everything is terrible, including Who. It's not the isolated lurgy, it's just one of the whole epidemic. I've been picking up more 70s movies of late and am even starting to venture back to the 60s for anything quality and entertaining. It is demoralising (as is the intent of a lot of it, I suspect). Movies and TV have been my hobby, my passion, since I was a kid. And now I'm thoroughly disconnected from all of it. None of it appeals anymore.

I struggle to connect with things from the modern era as well. I'd rather just sit back and spend the evening watching Fawlty Towers or something rather than watch actual TV.

In terms of mental health, I think I have an inferiority complex which makes me feel worthless compared to other people. I find it quite sad actually because I'll walk into a place and feel perfectly confident but then I do the stupid thing of comparing the way I look and present myself to other people that are also there and my self esteem just crumbles.

Yeah, comparison is truly the death of joy. I have debilitating body dysmorphia. If I see someone good-looking my whole day will be ruined, which is partially why I never leave the house.

As we have a mutual friend on FB, I've seen what you look like, and you have absolutely nothing whatoever to worry about on that front. Having said that, I understand that low self-esteem and mental health issues can prevent a person from seeing themselves in anything other than a negative way, but fwiw, I think most people in all sincerity would find you quite a good looking chap.

I would literally rather die than go into work tomorrow. I f*cking hate people and being around them. Kill me now.

I don't like being around people mainly because I compare myself to them. I always find it exhausting trying to act "normal" because I'm scared of making a fool of myself which will haunt forever. I find those scars don't heal.

Literally the only way I can imagine being happy is if I got a ton of plastic surgery Some people will never be happy with their appearance. I feel the same way even though I've been told I look fine by girls in the past. It isn't my looks, it's the fact that I find real life communication quite exhausting. The only time it isn't is when I'm talking to myself. First sign of madness?

Does anyone have memory issues? Sometimes I'm in the middle of thinking of something and I instantly forget it. I try hard to remember, but it just vanishes. I seem to forget things more often nowadays. Things like whether or not I've locked the door before bed or if I've eaten something.

As we get older, we have experienced the same things, such as certain actions, a lot. Your brain starts to just stop paying attention to the little details as much because you've experienced them in surplus. It also why our perception of time alters as we age as well. As a kid, years seemed to last for ever. Now days years don't seem that long.
