Victory of the Daleks. Daleks in World War II Britain as well as Churchill! Sounds like a classic, right? Well, not really. Unfortunately, the episode is way too short (shorter than usual) to really make much of an impact despite the sets, acting and effects being of a high standard. The Daleks don't do an awful lot and they piss off with about ten minutes to go. I reckon there's a good story in there somewhere, but it would have been much better if the story had been allowed to breath. Get rid of that power of love shit at the end as well. Bloody embarrassing.
I do like Gatiss. He pays tribute to the likes of Power of the Daleks and he demonstrates time and time again that he knows a lot about history.

it'd be funny if Gatiss ended up being showrunner and all the current fans hated it because he just did a modernized version of Classic Who. People would post incessantly about how the show's going backwards.

Nah, I'm usually very lenient with Dalek stories, but the whole premise of VotD is just stupid. It would be better off as zero episodes. 😉

If he got rid of the f*cking putrid, toxic mess of millennial hipster c*nts that RTD brought to the show, Mark Gatiss would be the single greatest figure in DW history. I want these f*ckers OUT of DW fandom, sci fi fandom forever. Is there any form of mass brainwashing so we can close down websites like Mary Sue and GB and have people who actually like the genre be its audience once again? f*cking useless hipster c*nts. I HATE THEM.

Nowhere near good enough to follow in the footsteps of JNT. At best he's like a NuWho Tarantino who just tributes all his favorite genre shit from his childhood. He's not original enough or good enough to do Classic Who. What Who really needs is Wilderness Years 2, followed by a reboot made by actual drama writers instead of uberfans who got lucky.

But who knows, maybe we need a boring potboiler hack rather than someone who has too many bright ideas for their own good.

They would be eons ahead of what's going on now, and so would Mark.
