I once heard something about Terry Nation wanting to put the Daleks in Blake's 7. Then I saw this comment in a Facebook group. Is this true? I hadn't realised it was something seriously considered.

Yes it was. The original idea was for the Daleks to have infiltrated Star One, and season B would have ended with the war being between them and the Federation. I'm undecided on it. On the one hand yeah it would have been badass, but on the other, I don't know maybe it would have undermined B7 too much? I can't imagine that would be the last appearance of the Daleks if they had appeared in Star One, in which case it might have ended up being too closely associated with DW?
It was reportedly Chris Boucher who shot the idea down.

Both Boucher and Maloney vetoed the idea, along with Gareth Thomas' proposal to have Tom Baker cameo as the Doctor.

Wasn't this originally hinted at within a Terry Nation interview in the Radio Times when Season Two had first been greenlit for production?
I remember being terribly excited that the war with the aliens was going to be the Daleks and looking forward to seeing the Daleks teleport upon the Liberator as a cliffhanger and instead I just got disappointed by them being a load of hairdryers in space hanging on black cotton twine threads instead.

The space battle in Aftermath looks to be entirely made up of stock footage from earlier episodes. It's a shame.

The space battle in Aftermath looks to be entirely made up of stock footage from earlier episodes. It's a shame. There are two original shots that I noticed: 1) the Federation pursuit ships flying past the Liberator 2) The Liberator emerging from behind a red planet. But yeah, it's regrettable. Understandable, given the budget and the fact that it's only there to set up the story. They were probably saving the SFX cash for the black hole stuff in "Dawn of the Gods".
